Description School work, concept art for a 3D-model I'm going to make (that I may or may not show here depending on how sucky it'll look ).

Zombie Hitler made him the mascot of undead Munich but the Allies dropped the Bomb Of Longenius on them, and it was turned into dust.

Great dinosaur. You should get rights on this and make a new version of Jurassic Park! I'll help!

Oh I'd love to, a zombie dinosaur movie would be sooo awesome.

Hm. A zombie dinosaur movie. Well, honestly, I hate zombie movies and am sick of them, HOWEVER! Perhaps a dinosaur movie is in order after all.

Haha! I looove zombie movies. But I understand you, they're usually always about the same thing

Well, yeah, it's not like you necessarily have to strategize against them--they're zombies. Just duh duh duh. Maybe they should make a movie where the zombies can actually think. But OH! that would make them alive, wouldn't it? These are hard times!

Haha I've seen some zombie movies where they can think, I think they're stupid. :[ Not really any point to it if they're not dead.

Awesome! I don't think you've ever mentioned that you're doing 3D game art type stuff, that's what I majored in (and graduated last year) 8)  I don't post any of my school-work or 3D stuff to DA though, it just feels weird to put it here haha. But I'd love to see your model when you're done if you want to post it!

Niiiice I'm going to specialize in concept art next year but right now it's only 3D, so it's super confusing, haha! Yeah, it does feel kinda weird. I usually don't put as much work in my school things than usual, maybe that's the problem?

SilverSkittle In reply to znodden [2015-05-02 20:53:10 +0000 UTC]

Ahh, awesome! It's definitely worth it to learn 3D well though, most concept artists I know of in the industry use Maya/3DS Max and especially ZBrush to sculpt something, and then paint over it for their concept work. 3D tools are incredibly great to add to your repertoire 8)  And for me it feels really weird to post school/professional work to DA mostly because I started off posting art here when I was really young and you can see my whole development on here with really shitty old artwork and sparkledogs and tons of people still favorite all my old shit for some reason N_N  So in a way I just don't want to connect my more professional stuff on here and lead potential employers into seeing my old stuff haha.

znodden In reply to SilverSkittle [2015-07-01 14:53:26 +0000 UTC]

Ahh I need to do that! I can get so thick-headed when trying to learn new things, but I think I got some of the 3D-knowledge into my brain.
Haha I totally understand you, I had an old account where I deleted everything (feeling bad about it now though), wouldn't have been so proud of showing that to people now.. I think I had some sparkledogs there too.

SilverSkittle In reply to znodden [2015-07-01 22:14:40 +0000 UTC]

Good! Yeah, you don't even need to practice texturing/UVing really, I only ever see concept artists take screenshots of their 3D models with the flat gray lambert on it, and then paint right over that. It especially helps out with things in a weird perspective, or when you're trying to figure out how to light something - just drop a light in the scene and move it around the model until you get what you like. 3D is definitely a useful technique to know though

And ahaha we've all got some sparkledogs/old bad anime to hide I think   I'd be interested in seeing your old stuff!

I've never actually tried that yet, need to do it sometime! It seems like a really good way to figure out the perspective on things. Will need to up my knowledge on that field, right now I still don't fully understand the programs
Haha I wish it was still there! I feel really stupid for deleting everything, I don't really have any old drawings left whatsoever.

SilverSkittle In reply to znodden [2015-07-08 20:04:27 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, Maya is a really extensive program that can do a TON of stuff, so you definitely don't have to learn all of it, just the modeling aspects you need. And aww that's too bad about your old drawings. You must still have some old art on conceptart.org at least, I remember you posted a lot of stuff on there 8)

znodden In reply to SilverSkittle [2015-09-14 08:23:56 +0000 UTC]

Yeah haha, it's so confuuuusing. We've had to learn rigging, animation and modelling and modelling was hard enough 8D
I think I do, should check it out actually, almost forgot about that site

SilverSkittle In reply to znodden [2015-09-15 00:09:13 +0000 UTC]

Nice! Well it's good to know all those aspects of modeling, they should come in handy at one point or another 8)  Never hurts to know more!
