Description
I want to get better at drawing people.I used photo references to get the basic shapes and then stylised them.
I still need a lot of practice, but I feel a little more confident about drawing people.
#3 was definitely the hardest out of all of them and I couldn't get the legs looking quite right
Critique would be greatly appreciated!!

These are quite good!
Don't be so hard on yourself. Drawing people is HARD. We're very complicated you know.
First of off, keep doing what you're doing; drawing from references and studying like this. I recommends sites like posemaniacs.com and pixelovely, which have some schooling settings. (The latter has nudes but you can choose to only see clothed figures.)
The more you practice like this the better you'll get! I recommend timing yourself to get down basic gestures with mannequins (like these --> i.warosu.org/data/ic/img/0016/… ) Try to relax while you sketch, let your pen/pencil and your hand flow.
Also, try drawing with a ball point. I find this helpful to get over a fear of mistakes and just draw quickly.
Also, study parts of the body. Draw a bunch of different faces, and hands, and feet, and legs, etc.
Okay, that was a load of general stuff. Haha!
As I said, these are really good! The calves/lower legs, look fantastic. You've got the basic shape of those down really well. In fact overall the basic shapes are on point.
However, try to pay a bit more attention to proportions. The heads are a little big bit. Have you heard of the 8 heads rule? On average, you can measure the body by the head, and it should measure, head to heels, 8 heads. Children are different of course. This image is helpful. 3.bp.blogspot.com/-bAbNDn3i3i0…
Also on your figure farthest to the right the thighs are very short. Again, keep your proportions in mind.
Also I want to recommend one thing to you. These are very anime in style (which is great! If you love anime keep drawing anime!) However, I also highly recomend you try other styles, realism and other cartoon styles. If you keep drawing only one style you'll get stuck on it. I've watched it happen to other people.
Sage advice is if you can learn to draw realistically, then your anime will look better because you understand how the anatomy really works. I hope that makes sense!
KEEP WORKING. Bottom line. Keep drawing, keep studying, and don't give up! Also keep your old work. A lot of people throw it out but if you can go back and look at your old stuff you can see how you improve and it's very encouraging.
And if you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them! My inbox is open!
Great work and keep drawing!
