I LOVE Derpy! But I have to admit it didn't upset me as much as it seemed to bother everyon else when they changed her voice (I kinda thought it would actually have MORE impact if her voice was normal).
iTunes taking away her NAME though was really stupid -_-
Either way, I enjoy the "find the Derpy" game and can't wait to see her in every episode

you know I met Tara Strong(Twilight's voice) and I heard there's alot of controversy about this particular pony and I gotta say that it makes people stupid, I mean REALLY, she's obviously there for the comic relief and so have that one awkward pony...they need asian and mexican ponies too though to make it complete xD LOVE DERPY TOO!

I don't expect Hasbro/MLP producers to push this, but I think Derpy would be an awesome developmentally disabled person in a show. Fans already love her, made her a good mom, and make heroic pictures of here. If the Mane Six each typify loyalty (and pigheadedness), sholarship (and nerdly naïveté), family love and strong work ethic (and stubbornness), &c, then we should also have character who shows us that if it isn't how big or strong you are, then it also isn't how smart or book-learned you are, being a good person is about something else.

If Derpy were to have her own Element of Harmony, I think it would be Innocence.
She would be completely immune to all the evils of the world, but also ignorant to, well, the world.
