This picture has taken me three days to colour, and yet it looks so simple...pffft. I really wanted a dawn twilight fantasy look to all the colours, and have been messing around with different blends of skintones too.I love the little critter sitting on the sword while his mistress gets dressed- note her gloves, helmet, ohhh and colour compact
She does have to look good after all.I would say she's more of a dragon than a demon, and certainly looks a lot happier too
Still, it's just a piece I did while I was- once again- practicing drawing poses. I am very proud as I didn't use a reference either.
She doesn't have a name, but I will dedicate it to one of the staff at my publishers, called Celia as she cheered me up today when I found out I hadn't got that dream job I kept going on about in my journal. Apparently I was down to the last two, but the person with 'more experience' got it.
Being a graduate I am unsure where I am supposed to get this experience from, even when going for Junior positions in companies...I thought the whole point was that they would train you?!
Anyway, enjoy the piccy. I like it muchly.

Oh, there's lots of wonderful detail in this. I really like the mauves and desaturated reds in this--it has a real mellow look to it.

I love that skin tone with the soft reds. And that compact in the corner is adorable. I love absurd little details like that. Gently poking fun at the notion that sci-fi females are gorgeous no matter what the situation, perhaps? That's what I'll read into it, anyway. Nice.

Believe me, I still have no idea how these leather clad sci fi type women manage to fight in heals...and I mean, I'd have to tie my hair back or I wouldn't be able to see, but noooo they just let it all fly loose...*rants*

Awww thanks hon. I dunno if I'm quite that huggable though hehe! Glad you liked my fuzzy critter, I think he's on loan to SuccubusAngel at the moment though, so as soon as she's finished with him, I'm sure she'll pass him on!

Actually, that reminded me of another book quote. There's a bit in book 2 where Ashley (zombie) and Fletcher (testosterone overloaded vampire) just are not getting on (never put two male undead in the same room...they fight) and it kinda goes thus:
Fletcher: *walking into the room* What's this we got here? One of the failed extras from Thriller?
Ashley *scowling* No...
Fletcher: Coulda fooled me.
Ashley: Y' know you need to get out more... *pause* Preferably during THE DAYLIGHT...

well first off, I love her little creature. It's like a Pocket Dragon(tm) and his pirtching pose is something I've not seen before. I really like it.
I also think the skintone was ver well chosen, and I really like the floppity spade at the end of her tail. Of course as always the hair made me go all "squee."
Perhaps adding some lavender to the gray sky, and some purkle to the horizen clouds might add a more dawnish look. Not that I'm ever awake that early to see that anymore, but it's a thought.
