wow, that's cool! how did you do it (i.e. with which 3D program)?

I used 3DSMAX for the 3D stuff, and then some of the details were actually fractals rendered with Apophysis. It was all put together and superfied in Photoshop.

Who's Andrew?

Haha, I teach classes at a computer education camp over the summer, and at the time, I was teaching a 3D modelling and animation class. I was showing them what the program could do when combined with Photoshop by showing them this example on dA. He didn't believe I made it, so I logged on and posted that comment: Andrew smells (he was Andrew and quickly believed me)

I really love this, it's one of the coolest renders i've seen in a while. It reminds me of something from Kingdom Hearts?

Thanks a bunch...maybe because of all the purple and yellow? When I look at it from a Kingdom Hearts perspective, I sort of see that, too.

zohar In reply to Namarin [2005-10-10 15:40:46 +0000 UTC]

haha, thanks. To make it, I rendered the main object in 3DSMAX, then imported it into Photoshop where I went crazy with brushes and blending and layer options. I also included a few fractals in there to touch up the details.
