sort of a hallucination manifested inside his new arm.
He can surpress it to a degree.

Hello hello! I just started playing Don't Starve, and i gotta say, your idea of this shadow hand is SO COOL!!! 'm heartbroken it isn't in the official game! If I were a programmer, I would ask your permission to make a mod.
But anyway, beautiful artwork, and wonderful headcannon!!!

Are you asking me? Percival the shadow arm was a headcanon created by ZombieDJ. I'm not sure how it became so popular, but it is a very neat idea had by a very talented artist, so perhaps people were attracted simply because it's cool?
