I dunno what's all the fuss between metal and punk, punk never bothered me, personally, but with that attitude your guys cannot be surprised if our guys retort in a befittingly disparaging way. And I never thought that was your opinion.... or I rather.... hoped it isn't? Because I clearly remember you being a Kreator-wards wild metaller a couple of years ago, back when Ripping Corpse was still around, and it'd be really depressing to see you've turned to such a new point of view.... I'm still a fan of it, by the way. Gonna miss the long hairs....

And no worries, I'm still very much into all that stuff. I still listen to it, I just listen to a wider variety of stuff now. Back a few years ago, I was deeply invested in the local underground metal/punk scene. Lots of people who liked the same music as me! But then it turned out, once I got into Machine Head, they all judged me and basically turned their backs on me. Then when they found out how into sports I was, they disliked me even more. I've since moved to a different city and have made a pact with myself to never become a part of a scene again

This is all very sad. I hope you don't hold it against all the metallers and fans, and even the fanatical ones. I mean, I've known a lot of people into metal, some of them fanatical about a given genre or even a single band, others not.... Most of them aren't really into a wide range of music, there is some sort of argument between the fractions, there's even those of them who think their set of bands or genre are the only real thing and everything else is total crap. But even so, none of the people I've known will ever turn their back on a friend just because he or she likes a different genre or band. This is insane. I dunno, maybe there's the feeling that there's too little of us here in a too hostile environment, music-wise, so we tolerate each other more, we gather and have fun together, and go on shows together.... I really hope things never go so far as what you described.
