Blore was in his office studying a model of Irk on his computer turning it around on the screen to see all sides so he could figure out where to put defenses up. He had a few ships patrolling around Irk and tomorrow would deploy the rest to protect the planet if the Tairns attacked. He glanced at the time quickly looking at the model writing down where to place Irken battle ships after finishing he stood up walking out the door heading down the hall. In the training room Ryuu and Ammy stood across from each other, "Okay now charge at me I want to see how fast you've gotten." Ammy just stared at her as Ryuu walked a bit farther before turning around to face her. "Come at me and don't hold back." The younger Irken looked at the ground for a moment she didn't like it when Ryuu wanted to test her skills because the older Irken allowed Ammy to attack her but wouldn't hit back she looked up when she heard Ryuu speak again , "Don't hold back ." Ammy got into a fighting stance as she charged forward. Ryuu readied herself as Ammy raised he fists as she got closer, Ryuu dodged the attacks as her friends fists came at her again and again. She knew Ammy wasn't going at full speed but was still fast if up against an opponent she would be quicker, Ryuu dodged a few more blows satisfied that she had tested her friends speed long enough. She stopped dodging bringing her arms up to block letting Ammy slam her fists into her forearms. She could sometimes get Ammy to hold back less and less each time they trained together always telling Ammy it was okay to strike her she had been attacked by opponents who intended to kill her a hit while training wouldn't bother her.Ammy's strikes were pretty strong Ryuu felt she had tested the young Irkens skills long enough she dodged the last punch coming up behind Ammy putting her in hold that immobilized her but wouldn't hurt her. "Very good you've gotten faster and stronger since we first started." She released her hold on Ammy who turned to face her panting as she wiped some sweat off her face, "You have to teach me that hold sometime." "Whenever I come back I'll show it to you and begin teaching you how to get out of some holds but for now we're done for today." Just then the door of the training room opened as Blore stepped inside, "Come on Ryuu we have to start heading to the base." "Okay Blore come on Ammy we'll give you a ride home." The three Irkens left the room heading out of the Facility were a ship was waiting for them; they got inside as it drove off stopping in front of the apartment building. Ryuu and Ammy said good bye to each other as the ship drove off to their destination; the ship came to a stop at one of Irks military bases. Blore and Ryuu got out meeting up with a female Irken soldier who was second in command of this base she walked up to them introducing herself. "I'm Ema I'll be showing you around while the commander is away." She shook both their hands, "It a honor to meet both of you now please follow me." she led them into the base stopping in a room overlooking a large open area where some Irken Elites were training, Blore turned to Ema. "This is all of them?" "No sir the rest will arrive in a few hours." Ryuu was looking down at the Irkens below. for awhile both she and Blore had been traveling to different military bases to see the best soldiers and Elites the bases had picked to accompany her for the battle on Nork. Ema began to set up some obstacle courses to demonstrate the Elites combat skills ,Ryuu didn't know why they had to see these demonstrations she had seen most of their performances in their files she would get to witness their skills on the battle field. She looked over at Blore who was nodding pleased with the Elites skills; she turned her attention back to the demonstration. After they had gone through the courses the Elites lined up facing the room above them saluting before Ema dismissed them turning to face Blore and Ryuu. "So what do you think?" Blore moved away from the window turning to face her, "Impressive really good selections of our army wouldn't you say Ryuu?" "Yes sir we could have a chance of destroying the Tairns military complex." She hoped these soldiers and Elites could help her bring down the complex then Irk could have some hope of defeating the Tairns everyone knew the dangers of this enemy so no one was too cocky about this battle for there was always a chance that the battle on Nork could fail. It was getting late and everyone had to be up early to prepare everything before leaving so they left the base climbing back into the ship as it drove back to the facility. The ship dropped them both off Blore headed straight to his office while Ryuu headed down to her house, when the elevator doors opened she went down to her computer room sitting in front of the large screen of the computer she brought up information on Nork along with some strategies she, Blore and some of the commanders made during a few meeting placing a chip into the computer downloading the information. Once the download was complete she removed the chip placing it into a small hand held device once the chip was placed in it turned on as she pressed the buttons making sure everything was there before turning off the computer heading back up to her house. She turned the device off heading for her room when there was a knock at the door; Ryuu opened it to see a soldier holding a package out to her. "Your armor Ma'am." She took it as he turned around leaving; she opened the package seeing she had been given Elite armor. She never had to wear it before it was stronger than the armor she usually wore that's probably why it was given to her but really the extra strength it had would hardly make a difference against the Tairns Berserkers but still it was better than nothing. She went to her room throwing the armor into her bag placing it on the ground as she changed her cloths crawling into bed. she just laid there in the dark staring at the ceiling even if she was exhausted she couldn't sleep knowing where she was heading tomorrow, the only time she had felt this much fear was when she was twelve about to be sent to her first war zone.Ryuu rolled onto her side seeing a small green glow on her dresser she got up grabbing her small ball before climbing back into bed, she laid back on her side opening the puzzle box on the nightstand before pulling the covers around her. She rolled the ball in her hand staring at the dim blue light of the puzzle box listening to the song emitting from it these two things were her only souses of comfort over the years and she needed them tonight she hoped that all the training, meetings, scouting soldiers, Elites, and commanders were enough. Her eyes began to feel heavy she closed them wrapping her fist around her ball drifting off to sleep. The next morning Irken military vessels from almost every military base gathered on the largest air base Irk had not all of them could fit but would follow the rest of the ships taking off from their own bases. Soldiers and Elites chosen for this mission were busy loading the weapons and ammo onto the ships while others were testing the combat machines and guns on the ships. Blore was walking around over looking all the preparations giving orders through a head set and to the soldiers, he checked the time they would be leaving a few minutes after Ryuu's arrival he continued walking around talking into the headset to make sure the ships he placed around the outside of the planet moved to allow the ships to get through when it was time for takeoff. He glanced around ever so often for the soldier that was to bring Ryuu to him as soon as she arrived. Back in the facility Ryuu was straightening the collar of her uniform it looked like the one all soldiers wore only hers had patches with the symbol of the Berserker on the shoulders. She picked up her dog tags placing them around her neck before grabbing the small device she prepared last night placing it into her bag throwing in another chip just in case she came across a computer so she could download any enemy information. She slung the bag over her shoulder taking one last look around her room not knowing when she'd see it or if she would ever see it again, she placed her ball next to her goggles on the dresser glancing over at the puzzle box on the nightstand. She wasn't going to take anything she owned with her if something happened to her she wanted to leave something of hers for Ammy to have. She headed up and out of the facility where a ship awaited her, she climbed inside as it drove off stopping at the apartments to pick up Ammy. Ryuu was glad her friend was riding with her for this would be the last time they could see each other for awhile. When they arrived a soldier opened the doors of the ship letting them out, once out Ammy looked around there were so many Irkens and ships she watched as some soldiers drove battle tanks and combat machines into the large vessels. Ryuu was also watching maybe they did stand a chance to bring down the Tairns, the soldier they had met earlier came up to her. "Ma'am Blore requested I bring you to him as soon as you arrived." "Lead the way then." They followed the soldier finding Blore talking to some Elites but turned around when the soldier announced Ryuu's arrival. "Good you're here we're almost done loading the equipment ,all ships and weapons have been tested and are in working order. Do you have everything?" Ryuu nodded patting the bag on her shoulder, "Great we should be ready for takeoff in a few minutes so do what you need to before then." He walked away continuing his duties, Ryuu turned to face her friend. "Well looks like we have a few minutes left together." Ammy nodded with a small sad smile, "Yeah." Ryuu felt she needed to say something, "Hey while I'm gone you're still welcome to come to the facility and you can continue training if you want I spoke with the soldiers there they would be happy to train you. If you want you can stay at my house if you get too tired from training to go home." "Thanks Ryuu. So how long are you going to be gone?" Ryuu shrugged her shoulders, "I don't know maybe months." "But you are coming back right?" She didn't expect Ammy to ask that. "Of course I'll be back I'm a Berserker after all I don't go down that easily." She gave what she hoped was a convincing smile causing Ammy to give a small smile back, they walked over to a machine leaning on it talking for awhile just as Blore came walking up to them. "We're loading everyone onto the ships we're about ready to take off." Picking up her bag both she and Ammy followed him to the ship. Before they reached the ramp he stopped turning around, "This is as far as civilians can get to the ship say your goodbyes then get on." He then left giving the ship one final inspection. She turned facing the younger Irken, "Well looks like it time." Ammy forced a smile, "Yeah looks like." Ryuu walked up hugging her friend, "I'm going to miss you little sis I'll be back as soon as I can okay." Ammy nodded returning the hug; they released each other just as Blore returned. "You ready?" "Yeah I'm ready." He walked with her up the ramp about half way up she spoke to him, "Blore I want to ask you a favor." He nodded signaling her to continue. "If anything happens to me over there I want you to make sure Ammy will continue to be protected it's something I promised her when we first met." He looked at her nodding. "Thank you sir." He didn't say anything back handing her a small head set. "This will allow you to be in contact with the commanders; troop and me keep it on at all times and be careful with it." She took it from him as he walked back down the ramp standing next to Ammy. Ryuu continued up the ramp stepping inside the ship standing in the entrance turning around to give her friend a final wave as the ramp pulled in causing the door to close. Ammy returned the wave until the door shut blocking their view of each other, beside her Blore gave the order to take off the area was soon filled with the sound of engines as the ships lifted off the run way flying into the sky disappearing into space. She watched as all the ships left when a soldier came up to her saying the ship was waiting to take her back home Blore would be at the air base for awhile to make sure the ships on the other bases left the planet safely. ,Ammy gave one last look at the sky silently wishing her friend luck as she followed the soldier to the ship. Back on the vessel Ryuu found her assigned room, after dropping off her bag taking the small device with her placing it onto her belt as she walked out taking the elevator up. It stopped at the main deck she walked out heading over to the commander's chair sitting down as she checked through the files on the control panel in front of her. She checked the route they were taking they would be at Nork in a few hours, the only thing she was worried about now was how to keep from getting bored she couldn't fall asleep she was leading this fleet it would be unprofessional. After almost two hours Ryuu had become bored looking around the room watching as the smaller ships flew around them, she waved her hand over the control panel checking the ships status when she heard a beeping sound. She quickly brought up the radar seeing a cluster of dots placing the head set she got from Blore on her head. "If you saw on your own radars something is coming at us all ships are to go into defensive mode." The ships put up their shields readying their weapons, Ryuu waited for the unknown objects to get a bit closer to see what they were soon as it came into view her eyes widened as she spoke into the head set, "All ships are to go into attack mode repeat all ships are to go in attack mode." She watched as the Tairns ships got closer. On their ship the Tairn commander watched the Irken ships approach speaking into a communicator, "we've found them Caim." "Good send out the speeders Nexin should be there in a few minutes." "Yes sir." Back in the ship Ryuu saw smaller aircrafts fly from the Tairns ships coming at them at high speeds it would be hard for the ships targeting systems to lock onto them. "We'll have to use the battle cruiser those things might be too small and fast for our targeting systems I'll lead them out until I return Commander Ree is in charge so I need to speak with her." She waited till she heard Rees voice, "I'm here Ryuu what do you need?" "While I'm out take down as much of the Tairns speeders as you can and try to take their main ships out I'll do my best to find their weak points I'll contact you once I've located them." "I'll be waiting for your call then." Ryuu ended the call heading down to the cruiser storage area; once she arrived soldiers were preparing the battle cruisers removing the cables holding them down. Ryuu climbed into one that was near the large door as the soldiers jumped into the rest switching them on testing that all communicators were functioning as Ryuu did the same. Once everyone was strapped in they were given the okay to take off, a soldier pressed the doors control button causing it to open as the cruisers exited flying off. Once out they maneuvered around their own ships firing at the Tairns speeders that had already begun their attack on the military vessels, as more speeders arrived spreading in different directions. Ryuu ordered the soldiers to split up and take down the Tairns putting someone in charge of each group, the groups obeyed going after the enemy. Her group was following some Tairns firing at them. Most of the speeders spun out of the way but two had been hit, the shots went straight through the engines causing them to explode. After taking out a few more Ryuu saw some heading for her fleets engines, she turned on the communicator in front of her giving orders. "Some of them are heading for the ships they might have been ordered to crash into the engines take them out now." She had seen on Kul that the Tairns were willing to kill themselves if ordered to; she led her group over to the Tairns ships talking to the cruisers behind her. "We have to find a weak spot of these ships split up and when you find one contact me I have someone back on the fleet waiting for my call to attack." As they neared the Tairns ships they split up taking out some of the speeders that came at them doing their best to avoid fire from the enemies main ships.Ryuu came around one ship searching for a spot that would take it down she saw a opening on the right side of the ship she was about to send the coordinates when her radar started beeping, she quickly looked over to see a speeder coming at her she pulled the controls spinning out of the way just before they collided. After steadying the cruiser she scanned the area for her attacker seeing it out of the corner of her eye as it flew at her again she pulled at the controls why was it trying to ram her instead of firing ? She dodged it again steadying the cruiser when a transmission came through, she heard a voice come from her communicator it was cold and seemed emotionless, "Hello Berserker." Ryuu's eyes widened she recognized that voice. "Nexin!" "Yes Caim thought we should meet.Now lets see how good you really are." He pushed the speeder forward as full speed Ryuu moved but it scraped the side of her cruiser causing it to spin. Ryuu held onto the controls trying to steady the cruiser if Nexin was using her communicator she wouldn't be able to keep in contact with the other battle cruisers or the ships, she quickly put on her head set sending a signal to everyone ."I'm sending the coordinates to a weak point on one of the ships, if any of the cruisers with me find anymore weak points send the coordinates to commander Ree immediately since I'm a little preoccupied at the moment. If you get the coordinates and you don't hear from me for awhile just fire we need to take down those ships." She cut the call bringing her attention back to her opponent as he flew at her. She pulled up on the controls lifting the cruiser up causing his ship to fly under it, Ryuu was tired of dodging him she flew toward him firing. Nexin saw her heading toward him as he dodged firing back,Ryuu did her best to avoid the incoming fire but two shots slammed into the side of the battle cruiser but it didn't hit any vital points they continued like this until both ships were scratched and smoking. They hovered facing each other that's when she got a glimpse of him looking into his fire orange eyes she had seen him a few times but had never seen him in person. Nexin sat there calmly looking at her realizing her eyes were their normal purple color not the blood red eyes of the Berserker he seemed a little disappointed as he was about to drive the speeder forward a missile flew over head slamming into the side of a Tairn ship. Nexin didn't seem to care about to continue attacking when Caims voice emitted from the metal device in his head. "That's enough Nexin this fight isn't worth it she's not even in Berserk mode you'll get another chance to fight her without any machinery standing in your way." "Yes sir." Ryuu watched as the missile hit its mark she turned the cruiser around to get away before the explosion hit looking back to see Nexin fly off,she wondered why he didn't come at her but pushed the question out of her head focusing on getting out of there. The ship exploded the power of it slammed into her as she squeezed the controls trying to keep the cruiser from spinning out of control,it was a bumpy ride but she managed to get the cruiser flying straight looking around seeing the remaining battle cruisers who were also heading back to Irks main ships. She turned around watching as flames consumed the enemy ships while metal parts flew into space as the ships slowly fell she brought her attention back in the direction of her fleet staring straight ahead as the explosions continued behind her.
