Whelp I couldn't think of a color pallet for him so I went with the default one in my brain, Forbin.I did my best coloring him and as you can see i'm not quite as professional as I want to be.

I also look at other art and examine them and learn off of them. I also watch a bunch of speed paints and tutorials which helps me a lot ^^
