Description
I had a vision of this image in my mind for a long time. It's from a story that I am working on right now. I am a big fan of any architecture that is associated with bodies of water. I started to look at a lot of Italian architecture to do this matte concept.I also entered a contest on this subject which was hosted by Bobby Chiu(Alice in wonderland concept artist) and judged by Dylan Cole(Avatar concept art director). Due to lack of time, it had a lot of flaws but I still managed to win it.
. After that, I worked on it for a day to finish it off. It was 100% completed in Photoshop with no use of 3D.it has completed in a time period of 3 days. My thanks to Dylan Cole and Bobby Chiu for the contest.(Photoshop.3010 pixels wide)

This is so complex on so many different layers, it's hard to define. I would say that it reminds me of the scene in the Lord of the Rings where they are departing from the Grey Havens, but there is so much more to this! I can tell you have put a lot of thought into this. It is welcoming in its intricacies, but at the same time formidable in its--as they say--intricacy! You have achieved the layers necessary to convey an area that contains close-ups as well as areas that are some distance from the camera focal. This is especially appreciated in this scene, most appreciably with the Godrays illuminating the more distance landscapes. You have created a virtual breath of fresh air with this piece, and I find myself gazing at it over, and over again, to my sincerest pleasure! Great job!

I always loved Venice, or at least of the photos ive seen and this only adds to the love. with all the finite details u added and the colors, so breathtaking I thought it was a photograph at first. great job.

I love how you managed to create the different levels of depth. Many times I'll see a lovely landscape or depiction of a city, but everything will share the same depth or focus, so (perhaps subconsciously) I feel like something is missing and it prevents me from losing myself in the image. Not a problem here, however.
