This is really pretty and an amazing ideas. I love the detail and the light you've used. The fact that it's near enough grey-scale is perfect for the given effect. I want to call them Phoenix Butterflies :3

Yes! I also like the fact that you can see a slight blue tone at the beginning of the wings

This is awesome. You must've had some great timing to be able to get a picture of that many at once .-.

If you walk around eaaaaaarly in the morning and search for a fireplace, your chances are quiet high that you get these
The reason is that they love to spend the night a slight warmer place

Wow, this is absolutely beautiful. Do you happen to know why they are attracted to the ashes?

Zoonyx In reply to Skyl0r [2013-06-29 11:48:11 +0000 UTC]
Thanks
The reason is that they love to sleep (or whatever they are doing) at a warm place in night which are cold in Switzerland. Ashes normaly are warm - so perfect for hanging out in the morning where the temperature is quite cold

Wow, they're some stunning moths. They look irridescent against the black and grey bgd. Awesome!

Great shot (: But I agree with the people below me about the lack of contrast and how it would look amazing in black and white. Either way, still an awesome shot (:

It would destroy the fact that they have actually blue wings (If you look closely, you can see them )

It looks kinda surreal which is cool. I like the contrast between the dirty dark charcoals and the pretty butterflies.

Yes they are real !
Idk, I had luck. Maybe because the charcole was warm or something like that
