Description The TDF Vindication is a former Terran peacekeeping vessel marked with makeshift repairs and various bits of harm from micro meteors the interceptors overlooked.  The sturdiness is impressive, given the centuries they managed to get out of what once was viewed as top of the line for spacecraft.

They were also military vessels, not civilian vessels or colonial vessels.  So the kind of open air dyson tubes one like could find on some Silent imperium age GSA voyeuristic cruiser just do not exist.  Life is harsh for the inhabitants, even as they are mostly in pods with executive functioning being 7 people who switch over every couple months.  They're more aged than the rest regardless, as they have lived in the ship conscious much longer than the personnel had.

Time here has been so long, there is no meaningful calendar.  There is no end destination.  Only perpetually running and scavenging.  Everyone in the ship has to some degree experienced this, especially those born after the defection.  A majority of the crews never knew the kind of prosperity the defectors abandoned.  They lived instead a deeply desolate, hostile existence.

The ship in question is massive, it is over 500 meters in length from its frontal living module to the tops of its thrusters in the back.  A spinal mount armament shoots straight through the center of the living module, a design flaw that makes most the crew terrified of ever actually using it.  Instead they employ multiple sets of missile pods, drones and interception lasers.  Particle beams seem to have once been on the ship, but have since fallen out of use.  They do however, have lots of missiles much to the horror of everyone on board and paranoia of security systems and clearances.

While they kept shuttles around for off ship actions, formal escape pods that allow long slumber don't exist and deliberately so.  They don't want that much a trail, some escaped may leak too much of their path or otherwise put them at risk of Terran detection.  The tubes that led to the large escape pods meant for surrendering large amounts of crew or jettisoning them to safety and in stasis are empty, jutting out unseemly from the main ship.
