I'm sure I'm not the first to draw this and I'm sure I won't be the last. But so long as there are mermaids in Neverland, Peter has always welcomed Ariel in to the isle where time stops. I wanted to draw one of their earliest encounters. I can't quite place when or exactly how they met, but I do remember Peter telling me that they spent hours talking. Ariel's mentioned her love of going to Neverland. It's a long way to swim, but it's worth it. I don't blame her either. It's wonderful!

But anyway, I had finished this a LOOOONG time before the summer even started. But it took me FOREVER to color it. (Mainly because I couldn't decide how to color the rocks.) So I ended up going with a more natural color. I WAS going to color them a grayed lavender kind of color, like the color they are in Mermaid Lagoon, but I remembered, they didn't meet there...so, that sort of backed up the idea to keep it looking a bit more natural. I personally prefer this version, but who knows? If people like that one better, I might even switch files.

I spent a looong time planning this out and yet.....it still didn't turn out the way I hoped...neither versions did. But that's not to say I'm not proud of the end result. It is what it is, (or rather are,) so I do hope you like it.
