Well, I don't know what I could say that hasn't been said before. I love your colored piece as much as your lineart.

I do tend to think that Danny's eyes are a bit to large though. Maybe it's just me.

Yeah, I'm not so good with drawing kids. Could very well be a bit too large. I've edited this pic so much already, though, that I probably leave it as-is.

You should be making yer own comic books if you haven't done so already.

I still absolutely adore how you draw Clockwork...*sigh* Wish I could draw and/or color that well.

Äh, just a matter of practise. BTW, how's Danny now? Any better? I redrew him quite a lot from the first version of the lineart.

Obi-quiet In reply to zorm [2006-04-12 04:31:49 +0000 UTC]

His body looks MUCH more danny-like. A lot thinner and lanky, although you can still see some of the muscle. I like the face more, although I still think it could use a little work, and the hair still bugs me. Sorry.

However, I like him a LOT better than before.

zorm In reply to Obi-quiet [2006-04-14 11:05:16 +0000 UTC]

I'm afraid I can't do better at this point. I redrew his face 4-5 times before I got even this far. e_e Just need more practise, maybe I'll do better later. I had a similar kind of trouble with females about one and half years ago. Took me a lot of hair-tearing and anatomy studying to get to this point with them.
The hair is probably one of those subjective issues like my bearded Snape. I like it that way, but everyone has their own taste.

Obi-quiet In reply to zorm [2006-04-14 11:25:58 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, everyone does have thier own taste. This hair style reminds me of something though...and I can't remember what it is...I think it's vaguely DP related, and totaly not Danny, and I think that's why it buggs me.

Still, don't worry about not getting it "perfect"...I think it's still a marvelous job, and I still adore the picture.

I might've gotten a bit faster with coloring lately. It's the lineart that takes most of the time, what with trying to get the poses and composition right.

Coronadofwb In reply to zorm [2006-04-14 21:52:29 +0000 UTC]

The lineart does look like it takes a long time, especially with how well you do them. Doing the lineart is usually my least favorite part of doing a picture

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

zorm In reply to Coronadofwb [2006-04-22 18:55:24 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, well, the inking phase causes the most frustration for me too. Particularly if the marker starts bleeding. Probably why I increasingly like to do the lineart digitally. The undo button becomes so quickly your best friend. XD

This is AMAZING! Great job on the lineart, but the colors really make this pic. You are a fantastic artist & I'm extremely happy to see Danny in your style. I can't wait to see what you do next. Thanks for drawing this & sharing it with the rest of us. You are appreciated!

Wow, wow wow. It is so amazing to see this in color. Your detailing is to die for. I love the aged feeling you get from the lair, with all of the worn stone. And Clockwork, well...Clockwork looks like he could ruin anyone's day, if he wanted to. (Even though he wouldn't. Not unless you messed with him, of course.) I like how you even put clock dials on the fabric.

Heh, I have a strong liking for drawing old, worn, slightly decaying or crumpling structures. Probably something to do with my fondness for asymmetry.
I replicated the old looks I 're-designed' for Clockwork and Vlad earlier, since I kinda liked them. I don't recall where I got the idea to put the clock imprints on the fabric, but, well, there they are now.

Ahahah, that's cool. for your love of asymmetry, you certainly seem to be pretty good at the symmetrical! ^_^

The lighting effects are simply amazing, not forgetting the many, many details. This is what Danny Phantom would look like if it were drawn like a Spawn-like comic book... sort of.

I would not like myself if I did not fave this...

zorm In reply to TheArtrix [2006-04-14 11:55:03 +0000 UTC]

I haven't read Spawn myself (though I know the character); most of my comicbook-style influences come from Emiliano Santalucia. But I guess that'd contribute to the 'darker' atmosphere.

Thanks!

Thanks. Yeah, there's some more detail compared to the linework. It's the texture mapping that apparently devoured every 'blank' space on the surfaces. XD
