Sorry, but I had to make another OUTLAST -Whistleblower fanart. I.. couldn't help myself. I've been obsessing a bit over Eddie Spaghetti here, and there's not really a lot I can do about it x'D
ANYWHO. Eddie Gluskin (aka 'The Groom') and his beloved 'darling', Waylon Park (cough OTP of the century cough). This is... really fucked up on multiple levels still a better love story than Twilight, lol, not the least of which is Eddie's infatuation with ehm.. killing and mutilating other guys. Waylon... is slightly less than overjoyed about Eddie's adoration with him, heh. Can't blame him, really... 'The Groom' basically wants to chop off said Waylon's guy-bits and turn him into a lady. And he also wants Waylon to have his children. Waylon... isn't exactly ready for that kind of commitment.
Why do I enjoy baddies so much hhgnnnhhhgg... This guy is way too much fun to draw :L
My !Headcanon!-Waylon Park is a dirt-blonde for some reason eeehhh.

I have such a seal spot for 'found footage' horror films + mental asylums/hospitals are my favourite creepy settings, so the Outlast series is just perfect for my needs, heh

I totally agree I've never found a game like Outlast after I finished it. The game play, the graphics, the Variants, they were all whoah I've so much sweet (well, uhm, 'sweet' in a new way) memories of that game!

I've played both the original and the DLC - loved both of them! They both have a special kind of creepy ambience and are very enjoyable in their own.. creepy way xD

Heh, about that creepy ambience... I am a total wuss when it comes to games like this, but I did find the DLC to have an impact on me (I had a friend over for an extended weekend and he insisted on putting me through at least the DLC - I don't regret his decision.). The characters though... I do get why people actually ship Waylon and Eddie, even though the ship is a special one...
So in a way, yes and no to whether you are addressing another OUTLAST player xD

Oh, so you've been succesfully converted? I have a big, throbbing heart for horror movies and games; especially when they are set in abandoned hospitals/asylums.. needless to say, OUTLAST was something I absolutely couldn't miss xD
The Waylon/Eddie ship is one of the most loved AND hated in the fandom, in fact. I don't 'ship' them as a couple, BUT I really enjoy the dynamics between them. And Eddie as a character is neat. Seriously fucked up, but neat (..some of his fans overlook his... obvious issues and ship him and Waylon as ~*kawaii boyfwiends*~ and that's probably why the opinions on this ship is so ambiguous in the fandom) x'D

"Succesfully converted" is a bit much to say, but it definitely piqued my interest. Ugh, I don't understand how people can stand it... Not that I'm the jumpy type when it comes to actual incidents happening out there in the vast outside world. However, when it comes to games/films, I am utterly hopeless. So for all I know the whole setting was unnerving to say the least.
Hm, with portrayals of them as "kawaii", I see why it might conflicting and untrue/uncharacteristic to Eddie. If you overlook his obsession/issues, I don't really think you're depicting the character...
By the way, the other one you made of them, "Darling. You could be so beautiful"... Is that a reference to when Eddie is killed?

Oh dear, I can imagine you must have been sitting on the very edge of your chair throughout the playthrough, heh. Outlast has some excellent jump-scare moments. I played both the original and the DLC with a friend (we took turns) in pitch darkness, and even through we chatted casually and joked throughout the playthrough we both had the occasional "!!!" moment followed by a full-body-jerk every so often. Good times!
I'm not entirely sure why I'm such a sucker for horror movies/games, because I wasn't always. They just kind of.. grew on me. Although I'll have to stress that I'm not into the 'splatter' genre. Or the Saw movies. That's just gross rather than properly creepy.
Indeed. Every time I see one of those I wonder ''ehhh did we play the same game?''. I even once stumbled upon this text post wherein someone heatedly argued that Eddie had the potential to be 'an extremely good father' because he had 'broken the circle of violence' and 'would never let anyone hurt his children' as he says at some point (Eddie was abused by his own father as a child according to the files you pick up in the game). I sat there like "...really?". Suuuure, he broke that circle of violence. Nevermind those 30 mangled corpses in his den.
Oh, he actually says that in the game.. along with other creepy things ^^ I thiinnnkk he says it when you're strapped down to his work bench, but I don't remember exactly. And then of course his dying words: "We could have been beautiful"

WELL, I am happy to hear that the genre is appreciated with some players of the game! Otherwise it would appear a waste of a pretty good product. Even though I don't exactly like the genre, I do recognise some quality work in it.
I never understood splatter tbh... It seems so out of place, and it is so absurd and unrealistic I can't help but laugh a little (the b-movies striking me again on the laughing part).

UGH, workbench. Don't remind me of the horrors xD His dying words though... They contained a little consolation for me. It made it a whole lot easier to just... Put it into another context, I guess. It seemed trivial, but at the same time very fitting for his character.
