Not that the beach really needs to be that clean, but...For those of us who havn't yet been to sandy beaches, if you stand in one spot on the smushy sand below the surf line you'll eventually sink in. It's a lot like that putty stuff that is hard when you jam your finger in and soft when you gently stick your finger in.
