Snipers POV:

The gong went off, and suddenly, Sniper was surrounded by multi colored streaks. Growling under her breath, she lurched forward, not wanting to already have a poor start. Prada had warned her to not get behind, and to not forget about her team. Those were the two keys to survival in the games. One could not make it alone. So with that, Sniper sprinted into the forest, leaving behind the noises of fighting. She wanted no part in losing this soon in the games, and she would make sure that she at least lasted for a little while.
Knowing how to hunt was an advantage, however, she needed to get to her team... if they were friendly that is. Elvis had seemed friendly enough, but she had only had a few moments to speak to him. She had not even had time to say hello to her other team mate Libita. He had seemed kind of aloof, and into doing his own thing when the new team mates had time to get acquainted, but she had liked talking to Elvis a lot, so had not had time to talk to the other.
Another dog she had noticed was Adolf. It was strange for her to see almost a mirror image of herself, and would have gone to talk to him as well, however, he seemed pretty engrossed in his own group, and Prada had also warned her about making alliances out side of her team.
Whack a branch snapped itself onto her face as she ran into it. With a small yelp of surprise she slid to a stop and rubbed her paw over her face. Growling under her breath, she muttered, "Focus Sniper, come on.... you are not fighting branches, you are fighting other dogs" She stopped letting her mind wander and kept sprinting along, this time her nose was pointed to the ground until she finally found Elvis's trail. Slowing to a trot, she cautiously followed the trail until she could smell him just on the other side of the bush like wall. He had his back turned to her, and the wind was blowing towards her, so there would be no way for him to know she was there. Grabbing his ribbon would be so easy... almost to tempting... however, she needed to wait and rely on her team. If she could not rely on them, who could she rely on? Prada had warned her of this as well. She could not get "Ribbon happy" as she had heard it called. Her mentor used it when describing the feeling of wanting to pull every ribbon you saw. Finally, she trotted down the line of bushes, and leapt easily over the branches, and landed softly on her paws. Elvis's head immediately shot up and a deep throaty growl erupted from him.
Not wanting to cause a fight if she didn't have to, Prada dipped her head and flicked her ears back, at the same time, exposing the ribbon at her back. It was a sign of the fact that she meant no harm, and she saw him visibly relax before she even whispered a word. "Elvis, it is me, Sniper. We are on the same team, and I was wondering if you would like to travel together?"
He seemed to think about it for a moment, debating on wether or not it would be worth it.
"Face it Elvis, you are bigger and stronger then me. However, I know how to hunt and track, and also am a lot faster then you. Between the two of us, who else could win?"
He nodded slightly, as if agreeing, and voiced his opinion finally, but also whispering, lest they attract unwanted attention. "Very well, we can travel together." He did not have to finnish his sentence, and he didn't have to. the "for now" was loud and clear in Sniper's head, and she silently wondered if she had made the right choice in picking a partner.
