Jeez, what a homely looking kid. His eyes are freakin' huge! XDAnyway, I wanted to get back to doing realism portraits of anime/video game characters. Here's L from Death Note. This was a no-brainer in terms of descisions. He already looks somewhat more realistic than most anime characters.
Please, be kind when commenting. I didn't have much of a reference image to go by, so his hair looks a little lopsided, his hand looks a little rubbery, and his sweater is so flat. =_=; But I did the best I'm willing to do for the moment. I may redo another pic of L chowing down on some cheesecake or something.

*Has to love you-----More than I already do >w<* I adore L.....too bad he's....gone.......*flails in tears* Aw, I thought he was adorable in the manga! His eyes were huge though.....>> Blame it on all the sugar he ate. O.o; He did eat a lot of sugar. Everything he ate was some form of candy or sweets. *misses him to death*

Thank you! Yes, all that sugar he ate explains the bags under his eyes as well. I bet the boy never slept once. XD I agree about the lips now that you mention it. Lips aren't my strong point (nor are hands, but that's a different matter). I think I'll practise doing lips for a while.

Wow, that's impressive.....Bleh...I've been trying to get into slight realism in anime, but I can't do anything like that yet X_x Mine still looks.....anime-ish...just....without the lineart 8DDD

It's about a teen named Light who finds a notebook dropped by a god of death. When he writes peoples names and cause of death in it, they actually die, so he decides to use it to purge the world of criminals. L is the detective sent to investigate all the random deaths. I hope that somewhat answers your question.

for somebody as fashion oriented as you I find it ironic that you have problems drawing clothes. (well, I don't really see much of the problem, whites hard to shade as is

i love the thought of bringing some sort of realism to anime...i never really thought anime was a very difficult style and since you are able bridge that gap i applaud you...good work...on everything!...maybe besidest the shirt...yeah the shirt is a little flat but overall it looks really good

Drawing clothes are my weakness. I should practise on folds in fabric and such. Thank you for your kind words! I really enjoy doing realism, so finding distinct anime characters to make realistic is fun.
