Description
I was going to hold these until the release of the 3D Apophysis hack, but I am starting to do stupid things already, like doing some really small adjustments and re-rendering it again, and then thinking like "oh, this one isn't so good, I shouldn't submit it at all..."This one started as a test-render for the "depth of field" effect. I'm still not sure that my DOF is implemented correctly though...

I like it,
I think this is one of the best you have made with the 3D hack.
So it's time

So awesome, reminds me of something on the molecular level, like white blood cells floating past a very big tumor.

Aaaaahhhhh! Release this so we can play! Every time one of you guys submits something made with this 3-D hack, it makes me half crazy....
Partially cause you are so freaking awsome....

I don't know how you do this kinda cool 'things', but it's pretty awesome ;D

Well, whatever suits you for the DOF effect. However, I have to say the quirks the current DOF has work pretty nicely here as far as making a focal point out of an already busy fractal. I also like how it seems to make this lumpy, rolling terrain in the fractal--unless that's some other feature you haven't explained yet...
Anyways, overall this is really cool. The colors are great, the blurring effects here do a good job of drawing my eye to the detailed areas, and so on.
Tweak away, okay? I know most people are all "DO WANT" and crap, but good art is never rushed, and I understand you'll have this out when you'll have this out.

thanks
btw the "terrain" isn't a special feature - it's just Julia + some tweaking in 3D

Oooh, nice. I like how you've got some variance in 3D fractals. It's like the variety found in regular 2D ones...well almost. I imagine by the time you're done, the 3D will have almost as much variety if not an equal amount?

The image is simultaneously beautiful and terrifying (I have just discovered a germ-phobia in myself, I suppose), and tremendously awe-inspiring. Most excellent work!

I really wish you could explain the process of converting the 2d fractal into 3d. I use a different fractal app, that is pretty versatile. If you were willing to describe the 'concept', perhaps I could translate that to the app I use... What you have done might be the most amazing thing i've seen in a VERY long time....
