REBLOG ON TUMBLROh gosh I cannot believe how late I am.... This is the trade with the ever wonderful and ever patient sapphire-shadows !! I'm an....entire year and 2 months late. :') At least I know I'm not reliable with large trades, ahahah....I am so, so, so terribly sorry for how much I've made you wait. I hope the product may make up for it, at least a little.
On another note, I'm never doing this fur technique with watercolors again!! It's entirely way too time consuming and I'll definitely be sticking to colored pencils or watercolor pencils when trying this. :')
I also used a bit of metallic paint on the eye and claws! You can see it here:
Levi's half
Watercolors, india ink, ink, metallic calligraphy ink on 9x12inch cold press watercolor paper. (Though I cropped it, it's something like 7 or 8 x 12 now)

This is absolutely gorgeous
His face is adorable, those paws are amazing and the way the fur on his neck blends from different shades of blue... it's just gorgeous!
I know you're worried about how long this took but it's totally worth the wait :') I love that you've added some shine on to him aswell
Thankyou so much for this trade (: it's been a pleasure!
I'll get back to you about my address in just a moment aha <3

Whoah, that looks fantastic! The fur looks just amazing...if that makes you feel better about the time you spent on it.
I especially love that part of the back with the white spots.
Wonderful, well done!

I think you pulled off the watercolour technique amazingly!
This is stunning, I would love to see more like this
what brand of watercolours did you use?Β

Thank you so much!!! Β And oh gosh....I pay zero attention to the watercolors I use. :') I use this brand called koi that my mom gave me, so hey, I wasn't going to refuse free watercolors, even if they are a little old. (My mom used to paint a long hecka time ago, haha...) I haven't really played with other brands, though I know the good stuff comes in tubes usually, rather than in pre-dried form.Β

Koi eh? That's a brand I haven't heard of yet
I love love love collecting traditional brands for experimentation
And an interesting point about the tubes, I always thought they were more proper then anything else, thank you for the tips!
