Description Me 262's in pursuit of a squadron of B-17's during a bombing mission into the indudtrial area of the Ruhr Valley.

The Messerschmitt Me 262 Schwalbe ("Swallow") was the world's first operational jet powered fighter aircraft.Design work started before WW II began but engine problems prevented the aircraft from attaining operational status with the Luftwaffe until mid-1944. One of the most advanced aviation designs in operational use during World War II, the Me 262 was used in a variety of roles, including light bomber, reconnaissaince and even experimental night fighter versions.
Me 262 pilots claimed a total of 542 Allied kills against the loss of only about 100 Me 262s in the air. The Allies countered its potential effectiveness in the air by relentlessly attacking the aircraft on the ground and while they were taking off or landing. Maintenance problems and a lack of fuel during the deteriorating late-war situation also reduced the effectiveness of the aircraft as a fighting force. In the end, the Me 262 had a negligible impact on the course of the war as a result of its late introduction and the consequently small numbers that were deployed in operational service. The Me 262 influenced the designs of post-war aircraft such as the F-86 Sabre and B-47.

The Me 262 model is from simviation.com download for fsx.
The B-17 model is from payware "Wings of Power"

The Me-262 best early jet fighter ever made.I use it all the time on Il-2 Sturmovik Birds of Prey. P.S great game

In warthunder the ME262 is deadly, swift, and fast but one problem, due to the gases and chemicals they used to fuel the plane in WW2 would actually burn and kill the pilot alive.

I believe you are thinking of the ME-262 Comet jet which used A fuel mixture of 20% hydrazine hydrate in methanol (C-Stoff) and an oxidizer of 80% concentrated hydrogen peroxide (T-Stoff) along with potassium cupro cyanide as catalyst. These elements were very caustic to the human body and mixing the fuels was highly dangerous during fueling of the jet.

Fuel for the ME-262 relied primarily on synthetic fuel, coal gasification process, J2 fuel.
The engines could also use Diesel fuel with additives but the shortage of diesel fuels in 1944 was not to be had for jets, tanks needed diesel to defend Germany.

Synthetic fuel plants became top priority targets for Allied Bombing in 1944.

Okay, and I never knew there was two types of the ME262.

Actually I think there was about 5 types, mostly experimental.

The Germans indeed had a lot of potentially game-changing stuff at the end of the war. Thankfully, most of it never saw action. The 262 was a true marvel at the time.
Beautiful work!

Thank You appreciate it.

A lot was learned about rockets and jet engines from the German engineers and scientists. The U.S. captured many of the rocket engineers while the Russians captured many of the German jet engineering in East Germany.

Thank You, appreciate it.

The hardest part about this comp was getting the B-17 into a flat inverted spin when flying the AC in FSX.

Apparently the engines had to be completely re-built after a short number of flying hours because the Nazi regime had lost its supply of Chromium and had to build certain components of the engine out of material they were not designed for. Nice Picture by the way.

Thank You.

A lot of technology from the AC.

High temps and friction was a problem with jets engines in the early days. The swept wings was the begining of high spped flight.
