Description
I'll be completely honest with you guys, Asterix and Obelix wasn't really a part of my childhood. Such a damn shame I had to grow up without them⦠Only later did I get to know them better. I can't make up that time, but I wanted to make a little tribute. I frickin love all the comics and the movies! I can't get enough of them!So this is how I would imagine them in my style. Somehow I really wanted to see Asterix in baggy pants. Dogmatix got a schnauzer approach from me. Obelix didn't really change much, but it's up for you to say
And just a side note. I finished this picture weeks ago, I just never got around to actually upload it. I'm really sad, because during that time, I heard that their original artist died. So I guess this should be a tribute to him too.

as a French fan who grew up with Asterix I say.... thoses redesign arent that bad!
I mean maybe Obelix's pants looks a bit weird with the way you did his belt and the Button on Asterix's shirt is a bit too "kiddish" I guess ( remind me a bit too much kid clothing) ...
But I kind of like how you adapt the proportions in your style, the new hairstyles looks nice and Dogmatx lloks very unique and cute ( if a bit bigger than his old self... I mean he's main stick is how small he is compared to other dogs)
But as redesigns/ adaptation goes... looks quite alright! especially for someone who admit that she didnt grew up with the franchise as a kid but found about it later

Obelix really seems thinner in your style XD
But it really is amazing how they look, I am sure their creator would be happy to see that his characters keep living even after his death.

Alongside Tintin and Lucky Luke, Asterix and Obelix has to be one of the most iconic European series of comic books (though I mostly grew up with their movies). I think you adopted their designs very well; I actually get kind of How to train your dragon-vibe from them, which is neat.Β
Which movies have you seen? There's a bunch of animated and live-action adaptations, and I'm not sure if everyone has been translated for english-speaking audiences. If you haven't seen it, I have to recommend Asterix and Caesar (1985). While it is good fun and adventure, there's also this kind of serious plot, in which the these three have to save two fellow gauls from abduction and slavery by the romans. Here's the english dub of it:Β www.youtube.com/watch?v=Phymq0β¦Β And the animation is 80s top-notch!Β

It's really nice to see those. I know no person who don't like them. In Germany those are very famous over generations.
How famous is pretty well explained by the game "Sacred". Those game was created in Germany and there are some funny graves. One grave has the text "Meuchelfix hatte genug von dem Barden" ( "Meuchelfix (Kill-Fast) had enough of those bard").

The bravest damn Gauls in the world. It's heard that even today after Caesar's passing, they're still defending their homeland from those would would annex it for their own.
