A lot of people say no, and think this isn't how Flutters is supposed to be, but in 'Dragonshy' she actually feeds her animals some fishes, so I'm sorry to say this, but it's canon. Also, great job for a first comic, keep it up!

this reminds me of how all the ocean's many majestic and beautiful creatures use the ocean for a giant toilet and they also make love in that same toilet that we love to snorkel in. just a thought, mr. fox.

She is kind, and nice, but she is not stupid, she is a dedicated zoologist and nature caretaker; Basically a druid, and she knows full well how the food chain works...

I actually found myself thinking about this when I saw that Fluttershy cares for Falcons and Eagles among the other animals ... both of which are raptors and thus strictly carnivores. Makes you wonder where she gets the meat to feed them.
As twisted as this is ... it is actually one of only a few logical possibilities.

I love how people are saying she should have gotten fish from the market. There is literally no difference, a fish died either way.

Ouch! Pretty cruel indeed, if we want to feed the seal, we should get dead fish from the market or at least of those from the sea.

Fluttershy does tend to brutally murder some of her animals by having them eaten alive by carnivores... we know this, because it was depicted on the show once when she fed the worms to the baby birds. Anything that can't scream in pain is fair game for butchery!
