Yeah, Fluttershy is shown feeding animals to other animals at least twice on the show, including live animals. She's clearly not uncomfortable with the circle of life.

Fluttershy might actually be the most understanding of the human diet in an HiE fic, given her experience with a wide variety of animals. Although I suppose there are other carnivorous/omnivorous creatures, maybe even some sapient ones, so ponies in general shouldn't be completely unfamiliar with this. Not really sure what dragons, diamond dogs, or minotaurs might eat, though (besides gems for dragons), but they could be carnivorous or omnivorous.

When she said they were going up the river, I didn't expect her to take this angler on the phrase. It would seem they took her bait hook, line, and sinker.
Perhaps salmon thought that if they were thrown back into society they would just flounder.
