Itβs been a long time since I last did a rendered piece and Iβve learned a great many things since then. My work changed just like I changed. My goals are now clear. I thought of her as female when painting this.Β At the start I was leaning more towards gender neutral, but after a while the name Mayfea and female gender just seemed to fit.Β d:

I'm not sure actually.Β I thought of it as a symbol for being restricted in how she can express herself.Β A muzzle to me implies more protecting other people from a dangerous animal, which would run counter to the intended meaning.Β It might be closer to being gagged, but that would have run counter to the aesthetic focus of this.Β I bet there's a better term for this but I can't think of it right now.Β o:

If the animal in question is intelligent and can speak, what she might say is as dangerous as anything she might do.
As it may be, this is some splendid paintwork, and certainly a combination of accessories one does not see every day.
