When you say Deaf by birth, do you wear hearing aids, or you do not hear at all?

my mother is severely deaf from birth but she wears hearing aids

deaf by birth.. i grew up wearing earaids and i took speech class cuz all my family are hearing, i was first deaf to be born in family. i can hear little without earaid like barking or scream... my earaid currently need repair :( (Sad)

You are very similar to my mom. She is also the first in her family born deaf. She took speech classes since she was 5 when they discovered her hearing problem. Without her hearing aids it has to be something really loud, or we have to speak right into her ear for her to hear us.

Unfortunately the hearing aids my mom uses are damaged and we have had to fix them ourselves, because they are so expensive :( (Sad) I hope yours get fixed soon.
