Thanks a bunch for the favorites and the watch! It always means a lot when someone stops by and likes what they see. I saw the hobby horse you made and I think it's great for a first try at sculpting. Plus it has lights! That is so hard to do. There's no way I would have tried to make something that big and ambitious my first time. If you are discouraged (which you shouldn't be!) I suggest starting small and working up from there. Yeah I don't think I've ever had that thought. Big projects are too intimidating for me to even start! Whatever works for you, I hope it makes you happy!

You're amazing and I want to one day have that skill level!!! (I have tried fabric design (drawing a blank on name) but my mom is amazing at it so it ruins all my artist self esteem to be proud of something then see hers and go "oh... I suck, actually..." Lol.

Thanks! And I completely know that feeling--it's tough having a mother who's talented in something you want to excel. But don't give up because no two artists are alike, and the great thing about art is that you don't need to compare yourself to anyone. If all the artists in the world give up because somebody else has better skills than them, there will few left, and how boring that would be!! I know it's easier said than done and I also struggle with a lack of self esteem every day--sometimes I take one look at other people's art and am ready to give up the whole thing because my work seems like a joke. It's hard workΒ keeping it up sometimes, but it's worth the effort!Β Your skills will no doubt improve over time, and you have things your mom (or anyone else) doesn't have--so remember that! Β

<3 I have 3 professional artists in my immediate family... I'm the only one in my family who cosplays though, which I think is part of the appeal to costume and makeup work... because I'm not competing with my dad or siblings.
