this is a really good set out of a character. i like the watermark of an expression of his, nice. I love the dog skulls on his shoulders i'm assuming that's a reference to his being Cerberus?

This is really neat, I like the concept, as I'm a fan of mythical creatures. <3 Excellent work, the only problem I have with this is that the head is too thin, and if it's the human form of Cerberus then what happened to his other heads?

well your the first person to point out what happened to the other heads, thats a bit of a secret or was
i originally intended that there would be three characters split of from cerberus becuase of the three head thing and a bit of a power struggle between them for domination over cerberus's powers.

interesting character design and color choice. I like how its dark colors I can picture him in a very dark backgrounds. the design reminds me of late 80's and 90's styling with the cap. But be careful with the cape usage from first look (without knowing anything about the character) I'm assuming in the story he is a noble. I'm not sure if that is what your going for or not. also unless the sword has some special significance (like magical or possessed) the sword should have colors that are a little bit more realistic or match the color design of the character.
But other than that again cool character.

the main idea for this character is
"The world as we know it has sunk into darkness as a demonic apocalypse has begun the only hope for mankind is the monster Cerberus in human guise the hellhound, armed with a fiery longsword and a vast array of fire magic at his disposal he wages war against the legions of demons that escaped hell."

A little too Vincent Valentine for my tastes; be wary of that, 'cause it could get you slammed. Personally, I think if you made the cape black and incorporated more red elsewhere, it would work well for this design. The concept is strong, but it could be stronger. Make sense?

yeah i understand what your saying about the vincent valentine character from ff7, it is very rare nowadays that anyone can draw any character without it being compared to another but despite all that i think my character design, story motivations etc are far removed from vincent valentine.
anyways i think you may be right about the colors and design even tho i like the red myself and i may have simplified the design a little too much from the original. [link]

I agree with you there; people will often harken back to whatever frame of reference they've got. I still think a little more color would be good though. It just tends to become a wall of grey, if I may say so.
