Nope, this was done with Photoshop and the pen tool. Many many hours of work.

Yeah, I'm a graphic design student so I've had to do a lot of work with illustrator, corel, all those programs. I always find my way back to Photoshop for vector art though. I prefer illustrator for logo design and stuff like that, not detailed work.
