Description
Rusty is a narrow-gauge diesel who works on the Skarloey Railway. He was brought to help out with the maintenance and goods work on the line, including the improvement of the railway tracks. Friendly and hard-working, he also sometimes acts as a rescue engine and occasionally takes passengers.You can read about him in the Rev. W. Awdry's Railway Series, in the following books:

I see. Rusty didn't get his name from the colour he wears in the telly series. Because in TRS, he's black.
