Still playing around with Iray. Trying to find that delicate balance between oily and soft skin. This one has been done for awhile, but I've been hanging onto it because I'm not sure if I like it or not. I'd be interested to know which look you prefer better, or if you like them equally. This one is the slightly oily version of her skin, and here is the soft skin version . I may end up using both versions to some degree. We'll see.

Awesome! Moar Fern! How you holding up? Not overworking those eyes I hope... Both skin versions look great, however it may be easier to judge if the comparison renders had the same subject position, lighting and similar posing.

They are still a bit red around the edges, but other then that they seem to be doing fine. Thank you for asking.
Yeah... The comparisons thing was kind of a last minute thought. A few others mentioned the same thing as you, and I agree too. Having the same pose and lighting would have been the way to go. Oh well, live and learn.

Did she get new gloves or is this just the first time I've seen them up close? Might be different lighting too, but I love them. They look like latex

It's due to the new Iray rendering engine I'm using. It calculates light reflections differently, and uses completely different materials. So same gloves, but with a more photorealistic latex-like material. I'm glad you like them. Wait til you see her pants and boots with the same latex material on them. Mmm... 
Oh and Halloween is coming... I think you'll like what she has picked out.

I looked at both of them, I kind of think it depends on the lighting. I honestly like them both but in the case of a darker background, such as this one I think I prefer the oily. Try making a soft skin render with a dark background if you have the time, I'd like to compare. Should make an oily with a light background for comparison as well. imo oily and soft skin textures might work better with a darker or lighter background. Either way glad to see you're back at it and my Fern babeh is back!

Thank you so much for this wealth of feedback. I've rendered and re rendered these so many times, that I just don't think I can handle it one more time. I have a ton of other things I want to move onto right now.
Most everyone has picked the soft skin as their fave. I'll still keep both of them, but I'll probably try perfecting the soft skin version.
