Description
I have finally colored the "Cat on Roof" drawing and so far it is my best colored drawing....unfortunately my small camera screwed all (as usual) ...I took about 50 pictures and this is the best one, where colors are not completely changed (but the tower seems about to fall -.- )....Made with watercolor
Enorach (the cat) is a Rakasta, a feline-like race from Dungeons & Dragons. His kind usually lives in the deep forests of the south but since he spent his childhood in slavery he's no longer accepted among his people...for the Rakastas' code who accepts slavery and surrenders is not part of their people anymore and deserves only disdain.
That's why Enorach is one of the very few Rakastas who live in the "World outside the Forests", as they call the great kingdoms of men... alone, running from his past, in a world where he is considered just an animal...
....Probably I'll change his race, the Rakasta, to something else invented by me... I don't want any kind of copyright related problem! ...the first page of the short comic about this cat is done! ...now I jst need a good scanner and a program to add text bubbles.
!!! please if you have suggestions or critics about the drawing or color let me know! they are more than welcome ^^ ...I still have lots of problems with colors..

I really like how you drew the background.
Is the architecture Middle Eastern?
And all the bird around the tower. Makes sense they'd be around tall buildings in populated areas.

OH nice! Β Excellent work in the background and coloring. Β I love the shady deserty feel.
Only thing I have is his face shape, his muzzle is a little long, but that may just be your style. Β Overall, very nice work.

Mustek do cheap but fairly good scanners, even large format one's I totally know the bane of trying to photograph traditional art pieces and when possible always use my scanner. That said a decent camera can get you the same result if you know how to set up the shot (I don't
) Either way a post-edit in Photoshop or similar software is usually required ... I always have to tweak the levels and certain colours, especially purple which my scanner seems to hate!! Β
As for the piece itself, yeah it's great, very nice job indeed! ^_^

Most welcome ^_^ Mustek retail online store also have great 'second hand' deals.
Well worth checking them out - mine is a reconditioned large format version andΒ
thus far haven't had a single issue with it, just over a years usage and still going
strong (touch wood as they say ) Purchased at about half price because it was
a return/reconditioned item ^_^

sigh...that's always the problem with traditional art; it will always look so much better in real life than any scanned or photographed image...
This piece still looks awesome, despite the faded appearance of the colours. The buildings look great; the lines are perfect and straight, and they definitely give the viewer an idea of the kind of world the character is in.
Nice work with this one (:

This looks pretty great! It has a real "Prince of Persia" feel about it, with the traditional Middle Eastern buildings and the well-designed character. The weathering effects on the buildings are wonderful as well, and so are all the details in the clothing! Wonderful work all around!

This is awesome. I just love the details, both on the character and the architecture. The texture imparted by the little hash marks is visually appealing and good for the shading. And I really like how the scene hints at a bigger story. I always admire that sort of illustrative quality. Great job on the entire thing!
