Description
Just a random Ajshar rebel about to be executed, nothing to see here.I'll let you decide if he's going to get out of this uncomfortable situation or not. XD

A bit of context! Yesterday I was heading back home for summer, and my train was 3 hours late. After cursing at the whole universe, I started sketching this scene, that perfectly summed up my mood, and decided to finish it today. I made it a bit more lighthearted than originally planned, it was too brutal.
There's a sequel now.

As someone mentioned, he should be able to twist out of the way to the side or pull/jump himself onto the cannon.
Either he does that or stalls for time. In both cases he should be able to use his claws to get free.
That, or he rides the cannonball, letting the cannon rip the rope Munchhausen style.

Probably, but that would just delay the inevitable most likely! Unless he can bribe the soldier.
haha cannonball-riding caracal!

Well, one soldier can't reload the cannon and stop him from escaping at the same time. Β

ohhh, other, more literal way of Cannon Fodder!
But I sort of think he would LOVE to be the "grunt infantry" sort of cannon fodder, right now!
I have always thought this method of execution to be so... needlessly gory. And showy. I know many executions where for show, but... ouch!

The situation is too comic to end up badly
also
You don't want to draw all the gore splats of him dying, even if that would be interesting exercise on splatters and guts.

That's quite an expensive way to execute prisoners. I mean, this empire may win on the terror aspect, but they will run their economy to the ground just on the execution expenses.

0laffson In reply to S7alker117 [2017-07-29 01:58:23 +0000 UTC]
For sure, probably reserved just for the rebel leaders! Not sure if people did it in the renaissance, but later on this was an actual execution method.

S7alker117 In reply to 0laffson [2017-08-20 21:11:33 +0000 UTC]
It does seem like it was. Pretty damn wasteful and overly messy. Can't imagine the Brits gaining many friends by doing it, either. Actually this seems like one of those terror tactics that actually turn against their practicers. But I digress...
Neat artwork, as always.

I'm probably the only one who knew where you got that idea from. Β
This form of execution was real. Β The most notable case was in India when it was ruled by the British Empire. Β The British army did this to Indian rebels just to make an example. Β I even saw an old photo of one of those rebels tied to the cannon with British soldiers in the background.
And the British thought the Indians were savage! Β
