Description Working on some different version of lizard people, taller, uglier and with a much more "beastly" anatomy

I'm seriously considering adding them to my setting. It might be repetitive, considering lizards are also in the project with LieutenantHawk, but seriously, I don't know who better than a lizard could fit the role of a nomadic desert-dwelling race (also they are a classic of fantasy games/literature/art).
Anyways, I really have to add another anthro species, otherwise my cats would have been pretty out of place with only human-like races around.

Still working on it though. We'll see Β  For now this is the last drawing I'll post for a bit, I'm afraid.

Depends on the scene, really, whether you want them to blend in more or look like they just learned how to stand on 2 legs... and got a growth boost.
But I like the looks. More intimidating, like werewolves, having very long limbs.
Yeah, that summarizes why I like it: it's a werelizard!!

I know this sounds weird, but I really like how you draw your anthro fingers. I try to draw my characters with three fingers and it always looks weird to be. I also like how you shaded the muscles in his (her?) neck.Β

I think they fit perfectly in that role! (ofc some felines could fit to a similar role but you already have them so..)
Tall but slender awesome look! I was first thinking you'd might go for a bulkier look on the lizards when you mentioned you might add em.. but if they are desert dwellers it wouldn't fit really, it is definitely better to go with slender
Β Will you be adding something to some of the lizard faces when it comes to i dunno.. fins? spikes? maybe horns? not sure if you think that is going too fantasy or dragon like; maybe you rather want base em on real lizards like monitors, but then again there are some spiky lizards too! and even frilled ones! Β

Yep, they were the better candidates! And teah, other felines could work but they'd be repetitive with the others I already have.

haha I love too much slim bodies to draw a muscular race! XD I'm not sure, a bit because they'd look too much like dragons, as you said, and then because I'd really want to avoid drawing them too similar to Argonians, since everyone is already like: "Hey, nice Skyrim art!"Β

well argonians are not the first or only 'lizard people' idea in fantasy (avernum had them and avernum is an older game) Β so I doubt they would be too much like argonians really unless you copied the style they are made in... but as you said.. that might be what people would say as skyrim is so popular and well known u-u

Exactly! Same with cats, there are dozens of examples of cat and lizard folk in fantasy, be it literature, comics or games. It's not like Elder Scrolls "owns" this idea, it's quite a classic used frequently, and yet every cat or lizard around is "taken from Skyrim" -.-Β  it IRKS me!

....and I've never even played ES, I was actually inspired to make my cats by a cat-race from Dungeons & Dragons
