Description Okey friends. Today I bring you a new chapter of this little jungle book story.

I hope you enjoy it. Do not hesitate to tell me what you think. I'll be reading them

Having escaped from the queen cobra's lair, Mowgli had directed his steps back with his family, the wolf pack.

But before being able to arrive, the boy fell defeated by fatigue, which caused a hunter; who was near there; I will take the boy and take him to the nearest village.

Already there, Mowgli was stripped of his clothes and later, he was locked in a kind of underground cave.

Now, more than a month has passed.

During that time, Mowgli was visited from time to time by Nathoo, the leader of the human village.
The young man made sure that the child did not suffer in that "prison", constantly bringing him food and water. But this seemed to be of no interest to the wild boy, for he did not trust any of the evil humans that inhabited that village ... Except for one person.

Leela was Nathoo's younger sister, a young girl who used to get into trouble and who loved to play pranks. Despite that, she was a kind-hearted girl, as she loved her family and always helped those who needed it.

Leela visited Mowgli almost every day, bringing him food and water, as well as some other things. During all that time, the girl taught the boy the language of humans, something Mowgli learned quite quickly, having already heard a bit of the language of man in the past.

The werewolf trusted the human, he didn't know why exactly, but he was glad to have a friend who made him feel safe and secure.

In exchange for that, Mowgli used to tell Leela about his adventures in the Jungle and, in turn, Leela told Mowgli about her life in the village.

Those talks entertained the children until dawn.

- Wow, and then what happened? - Leela said, excited by Mowgli's story.

- Well, the monkeys took me to some ancient ruins, there they forced me to teach them how to create weapons and traps. But monkeys are so dumb. Neither could learn the things I did. It was when Baloo and Bagheera came to rescue me.
It was crazy. - Mowgli said, who remembered that day as one of the worst in his life.

- I can't believe it, you almost died. - The girl replied, surprised by the boy's story.

- yeah But I have experienced many things like this. Some worse than others. I'm already used to it.

- Your life sounds pretty harsh.

- Of course not ... Well, the monkeys still hate me ... That queen cobra said she would take revenge ... There is also Kaa, who always hypnotizes me and wraps me with her coils ... Red dogs ... And worst of all, Shere Khan ... Perhaps it is somewhat complicated.

- Honestly, I'm surprised that you're still alive. - Leela replied. - I don't understand, if all that has happened to you, why don't you just leave the jungle?

- I already told you, the jungle is my home. Yes, I have enemies and all that, but I also have friends that I love very much. My pack would surely miss me if I choose not to return, and I could not live without my wolf brothers and my mother Wolf. - The little savage answered, with a melancholic voice.

- But Mowgli, you are a human, and the correct thing would be for you to live here, with other humans just like you.

- I am not equal to them.

- Of course. You and I are alike, and I am not a wolf.

- Not with that attitude.

-Haha that's funny.

At that time, the first rays of the sun began to filter through the entrance of the place. A new day was about to begin.

- Are you afraid of the people who live in the village? - The girl said, in a mocking tone.

- Of course not. I am a wolf, and wolves fear nothing. - Mowgli answered, very sure of his words.

It was when Leela's mind came up with a rather crazy idea.

- Very well, if it's true, then prove it.

- Wait. Than? .

-You and I will spend today in the village, so you can see with your own eyes that the people up there are no monsters. Leela suggested.

- What if that human with fur on his head sees me? - Mowgli asked.

- Are you talking about my older brother? Do not worry. Today he went out on his foolish hunt and he will not return if not until night. - The girl replied, who did not fully accept the actions of her older brother. - So ... Do you accept or not ?.

Mowgli thought about that offer for a moment, until he finally made up his mind.

- Very good, I will do it.

- Perfect ... But I have a condition.

- Which?

- That you will be with me all the time and that you will not try to escape. Swear to me. Give me your word that you did not escape. - Leela replied.

Mowgli stood idly by, for in the Jungle, a wolf's oath was one of the most sacred things that could exist in the Jungle.

- Very well ... I, Mowgli of the Seeonee, give my word that I will not escape. - The young cub answered firmly.

Those words had been too formal and polite, so much so that Leela was speechless at that attitude.

- Okay ... That was ... Wow.

- So ... what do we do first?

- Before anything else, we need some clothes for you. You can't walk around totally naked.

- really? Heavens...

- Maybe the sheets here are of some use to us. I will not be late.

Some time later, Leela and Mowgli were already outside the underground cave, luckily no one had seen them yet, so there was no problem at the moment.

- Perfect, there is nobody, we can walk calmly through the town without any problem. - the girl said happily.

- Speak for yourself, this thing is very annoying. - Mowgli wore a kind of rather long loincloth and a turban on his head, which the boy does not like at all.

- Sorry, but it was the only way that you would not attract attention, those clothes are typical of a child villager, that way you would not attract much attention.

- If you say it.

- Well, first things first, that is my house over there. - Leela said, while pointing to a huge hut.

- Do you live there? It looks like a huge cage. - Mowgli replied.

- It is not a cage, houses are the places where one can rest or protect themselves from the cold and rain.

- Like in a cave?

- Exactly, only this house is much more comfortable. Okay, it's time to visit the whole town.

At that moment, Leela froze. The girl was totally petrified and that was because Mowgli, without saying anything, had taken the girl's hand. Something that seemed very normal to the boy, because when the boy was younger and visited some unknown place in the company of Baloo, he always used to take his hand, which made him feel safe.

- Hey, are you okay? - asked the boy.

- Yes ... All right, all right ... Hehehe. - The girl replied, somewhat sad.

- Your face suddenly turned red.

- Well, that's because ... Hehehe, you took me by the hand and that's only done by boyfriends.

- The what? What is that?

- Well, when two people love each other very much, they decide to become boyfriends.

-And then what do you do?

- Well ... They always go hand in hand.

- So ... Am I your boyfriend now?

-Hehehe. - Leela only laughed at the child's words.

- You are a very strange human.

The village was a fairly large place, where hundreds of humans lived. Big and small, lean and robust, some very young who did not even have the ability to speak or walk on their own and others so advanced in age that they related their experiences in the enormous world.

Local men worked building weapons for hunters, or built huge huts to store their food or to use as their home.

On the other hand, the women of the village also gave their part, cultivating the seeds that would produce more food in the future, or in the same way, they wove hundreds of skins that would serve as shelter for the rest of the village.

The children, being quite young for this kind of tasks, were dedicated to caring for the cattle, giving them food and watching over them so that they did not get into trouble. And yet most of them spent their time tinkering all over the place, running in full freedom, as far as they were allowed to go.

Mowgli was impressed by what he was seeing.

- Heavens ... Humans are not monsters, they all live in peace and tranquility, right?

Leela just looked down.

- That's not true at all. You see, not all humans are kind. In the world there are also very bad people ... Like Buldeo or ... My ... . - replied the girl.

- Buldeo? What is a Buldeo?

- He is a hunter.

- But that's good, I'm also a hunter. - Mowgli answered proudly.

- Your? But you are still a child.

- True, but I have also hunted on my own several times. I once caught a buffalo by myself. ... (with help from his wolf brothers, actually)

- And I suppose you are proud of that, right? - Leela answered, a little annoyed.

- Of course, thanks to that, my family and I were able to survive the rainy seasons. In gratitude, we helped the buffaloes find a new home, as the rains had destroyed the old one. I was happy to see them happy.

Leela didn't say a word.

- Heavens ... I ... I thought that a hunter only killed animals and that's it.

- No, in the Jungle we have a law that prohibits us from killing for pleasure. We only do it if necessary and we must always respect the animals that provide us with their meat to live.

- And isn't it something ... strange?

- For me it is not. My dad taught me that everything in the jungle is a kind of cycle, when the hunter dies, his remains feed the land, and that land produces the food that will feed the buffalo or the other animals that inhabit the jungle.

- Wow, I've never seen it that way ... I guess seen it like that ... It's not bad. I wish my brother was like this.

Mowgli was silent for a moment.

- You know ... My best friend is a black panther, and my worst enemy is a Tiger. Appearing that both are similar in some ways, Bagheera would never hurt me, I see it in his eyes, on the other hand, Shere Khan is a monster that only kills for pleasure. His eyes are full of hatred and revenge.

- what are you trying to tell me?

- The day I met your brother ... For a moment I thought I saw eyes similar to Shere Khan's, but little by little, I realized that this was a mistake, in his eyes I could see my friend Bagheera . He is not a bad person, and I am sure he is not a hunter who kills for his own pleasure.

Leela kept those words in her mind for a long time. Her brother was a leader and a leader was in charge of protecting his own after all.

- I suppose you have some reason ... You are very smart to be very small. - Leela replied.

- Hehe, it's not for showing off, but I am the smartest and bravest animal in the Jungle.

At that moment, someone touched Mowgli's shoulder.

- Ahhh, how interesting. Nathoo replied in a somewhat somber tone.

Mowgli gave a small cry of panic, which made him fall to the ground, causing the laughter of some people around him.

But they were all silent when the turban fell from Mowgli's head.

- Wait a minute, that's not a boy.
- It's true, that's the wolf boy they captured.
- By God, how did he escape from his prison?

Everyone in the place muttered.

- Do you see it now ?! That boy is a monster, he took human form to attack us all. - shouted old Buldeo.

- That is not true. Mowgli is a normal boy, only he was raised with Wolves. But that doesn't make him a monster. - Leela shouted, defending her new friend.

Mowgli was panicking. But again, someone had taken the boy from his head.

- Please friends, let's be reasonable. Nathoo's voice was heard, even louder than Buldeo's. - If this child were a monster, he would have attacked us a long time ago, right?

Everyone in the village was silent.

- Listen, this young man has lived in complete solitude for a long time.

- Ahhhh, that's not true. - Mowgli said quietly.

- The jungle has returned him to our side, that is not a reason for fear. I give you my word that my family and I will take care of this little refugee from the Jungle. Now, I ask you to please treat this child like the rest of the village. Everyone get back to your activities please.

Everyone felt calmer at Nathoo's words. Except for Buldeo and a handful of people who were still not entirely convinced.

- You make a mistake, Boy. - said the older, with some anger in his words.

"We'll see about that, Buldeo, but until then, you'd better get into your affairs and not mine." Nathoo replied, sure of his words.

Without saying another word, Buldeo left the place.

- That was ... Very strange. - Leela said.

- Buldeo is just a grumpy and bitter old man, no problem.

- And all that chatter from "The jungle has returned him to us"?

- Hey, how else could I reassure them, you know they all get nervous with things like that. Nathoo replied.

- Yeah right.

- Well, whatever ... Better introduce me to your new friend.

They both looked at Mowgli.

- He is Mowgli. The Wolf Boy. Leela replied.

Nathoo caught up with the boy, who was a little scared.

- Nice to meet you Mowgli. - The elder said as he extended his arm to greet the boy.

Mowgli, unaware that this was a greeting, took the older man's arm with both hands.

- Nice to meet you Nathoo. - The boy repeated.

- Wow, you don't look very wild. You even speak very well. - replied the adult.

- I taught him to speak like that. - Leela replied.

- I see you disobeyed my orders.

Leela just looked down.

-We will talk about that later, for the moment, I would like to know a little more about our guest. Do you think it's OK?.

Mowgli saw the adult in front of him again. He was definitely not a bad person.

- Of course ...

The boy simply smiled. Now he had two new friends he could trust.

I think I can already see how the next parts to the story will play out.

Mowgli eventually returns to the jungle, but Nathoo and Leela follow in pursuit out of concern for him and eventually run into Mowgli’s jungle friends and family as well as the enemies he’s made along the way; they get to experience Mowgli’s jungle life with their own eyes.

I’ll admit that Mowgli and Leela are so cute and I wonder if they get together in the end like any other story where a boy meets a girl. :3

This was a really great chapter, cant wait for more. I hope you plan to make these into a whole series of fanfics, since you have the foundations for the story and characters already.
One question , how old is everyone in this chapter, since Nathoo is the leader of the village, but he looks young and is also the brother of Leela I guess is around Mowglis age....?

Thank you. I'm glad you liked it.

Yes, I am already clear about everything about the characters. In fact I would like to adapt part of the original story, along with some new ideas of mine.

Regarding age.

Mowgli is 10 years old.
Leela is only 5 months younger than Mowgli.

And Nathoo is 28 years old.

So there IS a realy big age difference, OK That makes seance now.
Just keep up the good work , and dont be afraid of adapting more unique elements from the original story , or even your original ideas. This is your version of the Jungle book after all.
