Ladybug is cute and all, but I think her outfit is really plain. Like it's all just one thing. So I added some stuff. I designed it more after a real ladybug which has irregular shaped, but a symmetrical pattern of dots. I added some white dots as well along with some blue additions to match her hair/eyes. Other than the superficial stuff to make it more interesting, I also updated her gear. Now she has 4 pockets (rather than 0
) . One set matches Chat's XD. And she has two weapons instead of one. Hope you like it! <3

Yeah, I gotta admit that Ladybug's canon outfit leaves a lot to be desired, especially considering Marinette is a fashion designer. Hopefully in season 4 or 5 we get a new outfit.

What I find most annoying about cartoon Ladybug's design is the comparison to Cat Noir's costume. His is so much more detailed and he actually looks like a cat. Whereas the main character looks like a girl in a polka dotted wet suit or something. It looks like a superficial, hardly thought out design. But what I do like is that she's a magical girl like character except she doesn't wear a skirt or covered in ruffles and bows. It's a different kind of approach that is closer to functional than anesthetic.Β
I like your redesign. It looks better while maintaining being functional and the best part: researched.

...i think i might like your design better than the original. i see where you're coming from on saying you feel like her outfit is really plain and that it's just one thing, that's one reason why i like yours better
