Description
This one's all about a bit of nostalgia. The old drive-in restaurants with the cute carhops on roller skates may be long-gone, but if they ever come back, this baby's ready to go anytime. Check out the clip-on window trays, complete with A&W mugs! I was really grinning as I shot this. For the 1956 model, 2 more engines were available, right up to a 312 cu inch V8, that with the right options could get you 225HP.
You know, so you could get to see them carhops quicker...

Even though I'm only 21, I fell in love with those cars a long time ago... Unfortunately where I live, these cars are seen quite rarely. Thank you for those great shots

You're very welcome! I've always loved them and motorcycles too. For as long as I can remember.

What model/make is this? Does that say Farelane on the bonnet?

It's a Ford Fairlane. They were made between 1955 and 1971, and went from large to mid-size back to large. The Ford Torino was a sub-brand before stepping out of the Fairlane shadow, and was a star in NASCAR for a while.

Perfect angle! I better go back and start uploading some more cars..never will stop being amazed not only by the designs but the amount of talent it takes to create one.
That was actually what I wanted to be as a kid (automotive designer) but my body said speed and sports so......
But when I was little I would spend hours every day drawing my designs and then would update them every year.
I guess here some loves we are born with so..but in your photo, angles have such impact depending on the car. This one does justice to the design of the car and the features.

Thank you, but there were only a very few choices for the angle on this one. Just outside the frame to the left, the owners had "set up camp" with their showboard and portable chairs. They were having so much fun, and I'd never ask them to move. I wondered for a bit because I wanted a shot that would get the window tray without excluding the whole vehicle as I thought it was important for the feel of the shot.
As a boy, I often tried drawing cars and motorcycles, but was never happy with my results. That's probably why I gravitated to photography.

Thank you. I see a few of them around, so they're not rare by any means. But the ones that are worth a second look - those ones are far fewer. I'm trying to remember, but I think this is owned by a couple who looked to me to be very young at heart, and might have been in their 60s. They were having a blast with their baby at the cruise night. This thing obviously gets more love than any 25 regular cars anywhere.
