being made in Cinema 4D R11 AR3 using "Jetfire" [link] by ~loneold as my only reference

Step 8
attempting photographic integration . i have to say that cutting the top/back of the shin and adding a knee were wonderful design concepts . the bent leg looks a lot better than my previous models . i need to do something similar to the front of robot arms from now on too . .. i also need to research action poses . i think i'll do 2 or 3 renders of this model

Steps 6-7
made the shoulder vents slightly different from each other because the chest pieces are different and i thought it would compliment the original design . i made the head . worked on materials . wanted to see what the lights looked like on a dark background . i think he's a cute robot

Step 5
made the gun . added 4 unique lights . instanced them about 12 times . cut the line on the right shoulder pad . made exhaust cones and placed them on the back of the legs and the backpack . each of the cones is using 2 lights . there is one light instanced 4 times for the bottom of the jetpack vents . i added upper and lower vents to the backpack . reshaped the chest . the lights will look totally different on a darker background but you can see the basic colors on this white

Step 4
modeled the arm/backpack/jetpack/wing , added the hands , made mirror copies of the legs and arm pieces and organized the pointers so it's ready for posing . next i'm going to make the weapon then it's the challenge of the head area

considering a pose for him . maybe put light and smoke effects coming from the bottom of the 4 jetpack vents , bend his legs up at slightly different angles and put him in the air . i'm going to rig the gun with a laser effect when i make it .. we'll see . any suggestions ?

made the chest that was more complicated than i thought it would be . i diverted from the base design a bit for certain details . still need to make the vent things beside the head . i may have this finished before the weekend . arms are next . then the backpack/wings . then head . then materials and posing for a final render

Step 2
made the left leg . past the original design i added a knee object between the thigh and shin to allow for poseable movement . i cut an extra area from the top/back to give the knee object a place to slide around . i also made the foot with slightly different angles and i cut the area around the foot away (as well as under the shin) so the foot has a large area of angles to move around in when posed . when finished with the model i will duplicate/mirror the left arm and leg to make the right side

added cubes in for the main shapes and sized them to near what they will be . this step is a process of studying the image enough to be able to understand where things go and how they related to each other
