Description This was a piece I did last year for my Design 1 class. Sadly I still haven't figured out how to get my laptop and scanner to hook up...so this cell phone picture will have to do I suppose.

I used watered down Black Acrylic paint, graphite, pen and pen on Bristol bored...that and burnt paper towels that I secured to the bored with rubber cement, lit on fire, the painted over.

That's the thing about college courses and people who get the most out of college courses - it forces you to expand your horizon and see just how far can you go and how many envelopes can you push to the point of extinction. And from what I am looking at here... I'd say you're well on your way, old bean.

It's still very you - there's a muted undercurrent of anxiety and urgency of something wanting to come out; a certain sense of self-doubt, even. But just look at this piece! The technique and the mediums you are using have all been upgraded here. Painting over burnt paper-towel? I wouldn't have thought to do that. The added 3D aspect to the whole picture enhances the creeping darkness that forms a dichotomy with the flat, light person. I think you've done a wonderful job here, my friend. And here's to another year of college courses!

Why thank you old sport!

Haha, yeah, funny story behind that one, I actually got in trouble for setting one of my concept pieces (a 4 by 4 inch square of Bristol board) on fire in class. I did so on an artistic whim...luckily this whim didn't harm anyone or myself, though it did make me have to place my piece outside and have the teacher scold me. I'm hoping I can get a better photo of this taken though...there's a lot of little detail that can't be seen in this that I'm very proud of.

Artistic whim, you said?
Well, now... spoke like a true artist now, aren't we? Most law-abiding enclosed minds wouldn't think of setting something on fire, I don't think (much less inside a class.) That's not necessarily a bad sign, though. As long as you keep safety first (or at least think of safety), I say, let your whims be your masters and your wiles be your muses. You never know where they might take you.

In the mean time... here's to hoping that you'll send us a better photo, soon.

With all honesty it makes me feel like, well, someone I wish to forget about is trying to creep out of me... we don't talk much anymore as you guessed, lol

What good would come from releasing the side of me that only wants revenge? I promised myself to leave those pains behind me

It's not like that entirely. it wants to be real. it wants to exist...

Well to whom is it directed and what exactly does it want to do with its existence?

It is called Subcon (obviously short for subconscience) and it is basically my dark thoughts and what I wish to do upon those who hurt me in the past. It wants to seek rightful "justice" on everything it finds wrong- the government, school system, satanists, and personal matters as well
