Interesting, the very slight DOF makes it work for me.

it is simple plane - modified. used "formula" which makes this looking shape. Then I selected all the polyies and extruded. Nothing special! Hope you like!

would you mind doing a quick render of the shape from the outside so I can understand what you mean?

this is my speed modelling work, so i dont save any files, except render. i am sorry all i can say, there is 3 identical planes extruded.. every plane is rotated.

Nice. Did you add some kind of randomiser script or something for the polys?

NO! I just pressed CTRL+A (selecting all polys), then pressed extrude, unticked - preserve groups and used some variations about 145%. It gives you separate extruded-cubes. Hope you understood

Oh you did this in C4D? Thought it must have been max. I'm using max and can't find the box to untick what you said "preserve groups"?

there must be similiar option. just need to find the real one. check extrude options. i have worked with max, but nothing good appeared c4d is the easiest apps, but still very very powerful opponent to 3ds max

Yeah, it's just because you posted it in the 3ds max group, that's why I asked.
You sent me on a wild goose chase for that little box to untick ...haha never mind
