Description After showed me a few parts of the animated Clone Wars show (not the CG one) I felt inspired to take a stab at General Grievous. His design reminds me of an anthropomorphic insect, so that's where this came from. It really didn't need that much tweaking. I just added some more organic elements to the exoskeleton inspired by mantises and grasshoppers (the thighs). And of course wings. Every badass bug needs wings!

Oh hell yeah! I'm not the only one who felt reminded of an anthro insect! Probably partially the reason I fell in love with him.

Believe it or not, Disney just bought the rights to Star Wars.

Exactly. Though, I had a teacher once who was a die-hard star wars fan. He left for Chicago a few years back, and the minute I found out Disney had bought Star Wars, I got a message on facebook from a fellow student of his class;

"Disney just bought the rights to Star Wars. Can you hear Holzer screaming in pain yet?"

I lawled and had a good time.

And probably very true.

Ah, Mr. Holzer. He was the fencing coach, and whenever you approached him he'd give you this look that made it seem like you had just shot his child. He always said "What," as if answering your question was the worst thing on earth; sounded a little like a snotty child when he said that. And he didn't like to talk to people.

He sounds like me when I have a bad hangover (which is thankfully rare, but people do not want to be near me when it happens). He also sounds a little like my eighth grade history teacher, except he did that kind of thing with a sense of humour.

Hehe, my friend had a bad hangover once. Every other word out of that girl's mouth was a curse. Want to know what she texted me at 2:29 am?

"Lolwut im legit srsdm firght now."

I have that engrained forever in my memory.

Cool. Holzer taught English and coached fencing, and most of the school was scared of him. He was intimidating--except to my mother.

I can't even begin to decipher that. Luckily when I'm grumpy or hungover I can filter out my pissy mood from my typing. It's in-person contact that needs to be kept at a minimum. Oddly enough I can also type okay when I'm drunk. The backspace gets used a lot though.

Go mom. Parents have a way of disarming even the most terrifying teachers.

LadyoftheGeneral In reply to 13foxywolf666 [2012-11-02 22:22:45 +0000 UTC]

Haha, the backspace. I use it all the time. To be honest, I've never been drunk. I remember once, in health class in...ninth...eleventh! grade...we put on goggles that similuated drunken vision, on different scales...and I got the goggles that were, like, one step away from lethal. Totally hammered. I amaused the class by being unable to keep my balance for more than five seconds. I careened into three of the other people wearing the goggles and did a face plant when asked to walk in a straight line, heel to toe. By the way, my straight line was sort of a Z-shaped spiral.

It bugged me to no end that she wasn't intimidated by him.

I've never been near that level before, but then I'm pretty good about knowing when to stop. Every now and then I'll push the limits with the full knowledge of the consequences and I accept them, but only rarely. I try to stay under a bottle (2 and a half glasses) of wine per night since that's where I get to that nice buzzed state where I would be stupid to get behind the wheel but can do everything else pretty normally and wake up with no problems. The trick to responsible drinking is learning one's limits.

I remember those goggles. Oh things got hilarious in my driver's ed class back in the day when the instructor brought those out.

LadyoftheGeneral In reply to 13foxywolf666 [2012-11-03 19:31:38 +0000 UTC]

Exactly, and it's very mature of you to know that. I know people well over your age who are abs-a-fucking-lutely clueless when it comes to their limits....in EVERYTHING. And they pride themselves on being mature.

They didn't have a us actually drive the golf carts with the goggles because it was too frosty to go weaving through traffic cones on frozen, slippery grass with drunk goggles on. Any funny stories from your end?

Having known people like that I can say you're 100% right.

Not really as far as the drunk goggles went, but I'll never forget my first time behind the wheel of a car. I had never driven before I took driver's ed so when the guy asked me to take the car on the actual road I was like "ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR FUCKING GOURD?!" I didn't say that out loud, but my parents said when I arrived home I looked scared out of my wits. Good times.

Now this one is way more badass than the original 2D one and even more than the later ones who all have coughing fits. Seriously, he's mostly machine, you can probably make him some new lungs to replace those beat up ones that Mace Windu crushed... This one though... the power of flight would make him that much worse to try and deal with.

I like it. (Also, that version of Grevious was awesome. I mean, he had everything. A cool voice, only spoke when he needed to and spoke like a gentleman, had an honor code, could fight on his own and pwn everyone, even Jedi, and didn't run at the first sign of danger.) I hate what they've done to him.
