I love Ruby, but Misery is my fav.

Really like how simple this look, but gives such a huge idea how to do well detail shading and lighting in digital. But also helps out for traditional art

Thank you for sharing this WIP
I tried to do something similar, it's still nothing near your work of course but it was very helpful

Something else: Do you use masks? I use clipping masks for the shadow and light layers but there may be a better way

thanks for the fav

true, masks are really helpful, but do you prefer transparency masks or clipping masks?
Until now I have been using clipping masks but that also has it's restrictions (position only directly above the masklayer)
I didn't use transparency masks, that might be better but I don't know...

How do you paint in the occlusion and the "bouncing light"? Is it basically just adding depth to the shadows?

14-bis In reply to rabbitboy3 [2010-08-21 14:16:17 +0000 UTC]

the occlusion is a more concentrated shadow that you will paint over the shadow layer.

Ah, I always like these detailing bits, knowing how things began and seeing where they ended up.

About the only question that comes to me is why a statue of her? Could it be a dedication of sorts? Or was SkullBoy struck by some sort of inspiration?

^_^

Either way, sweet WIP; thanks for the share.

Γ‰ interessante ver o seu trabalho passo a passo. De qualquer jeito,aΓ vai a sugestΓ£o:quando uma personagem feminina for muito nova para ter peitos, que ela tenha pelo menos belas pernas!

Shouldn't her left arm (with the spider) cast a shadow on her body? o.o
But awesome nonetheless ^^

I've got to learn to try that too... Btw, can it also work on Adobe PhotoShop Elements 6?
