wow ,Β that image is so old .
I dont even use that technique anymore .
but , to achiveΒ a good look , yes you can use some very simple shapes with the right shaders .
and always looking at some real life references .

the only way I could tell it was painted (other than the category it was in) was the fact I doubted whether or not YOU would have a background that clean to take the picture in.
That and who has walls that color?

Ah, so that's how you did it.
I've seen a lot of artists use this method of making a sketch and using that for a framework in Photoshop.
In fact I've seen a few artists use this method for the animation cell look. I thought about trying it but it uses the pen took and really that's such a pain to do, know what I mean?

It always intrigues me as to how you can do such great works in such a short amount of time. Thanks for sharing this progression with us.

Nice rendering....I knew it was a rendering, but very well done...expecially for Photoshop. It looks like you used a 3D rendering program. All the more impressive.

Do you used vectors for the starting shapes? They're so smooth.
π: 0 β©: 1
14-bis In reply to Alex-the-Cat [2007-12-01 17:22:31 +0000 UTC]
no . just circular selection tools , and hard brushes .
vectors just slow my speed painting process .
