Description These were made for a swap in 2003. Felt tip pens and sections of an Army manual.

ATCs are the size of a playing card, or, not coincidentally, a trading card. ATC = Artist Trading Card. It is really fun working on the small canvas once you get used to it.

It's a lot of fun. I have a notebook full of cards I've traded for. Each one a piece of original art. It's fun making them and collecting them. Also a lot of fun learning to work on the small canvas. Try it!

you say you work right on the cards now--how so?

For those particular ATCs that I wanted to color in marker, I cut cardstock to the dimensions. But if I'm going to paint them or collage, I use sandpaper to strip off the slick coating and then prime with gesso to give the card some tooth.

ATC's, I had NO idea. I want to do MANY of these. Do they have to be an exact size? Let me know. This is SO cool.

Yes, they are 2.5x35, the size of a baseball card. Then you can use the trading card collector sleeves for the ones you get in return. They are also the size of a playing card. I do all of mine on playing cards now. These were done on cardstock, however, so I could color them easily with the markers.

It's actually 6 individual ATCs. but it would be cool to do something like that with mutiple ATCs. I hadn't thought about that.

Hey, if you like these, take a look at this set of 6 I made for a different swap: [link]
