Thank you! You know, you are the first person to ask about my name. LOL The 16 Steps program is an alternative to the 12 Step program. It's all based on empowerment and self-discovery rather than being about having a disease that will never be cured. Really good for women and other groups that are typically disempowered. Also can be used as a fantastic program for building creativity. You can read the steps at [link] I wrote my own version. Hoping to write more about them in my journal in the new year.

I checked out that link and found it very interesting. I forget that it was so long ago when Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob got together with all the other Alcoholics to write The big book of Alcoholics Annonymous. Times have changed and there is now more diversity and social factors involved. Good stuff to think about. Thanks.

You are most welcome! Kasl's book, Many Roads, One Journey, really goes in depth into the reasons why the 12 Step model should not be applied to everything. It's an interesting read. She was very active in 12 step programs for a long time, so she really knows the model inside and out.
