OK, so what is this? I don't know. It's an image from a dream I had last night. I can't remember a thing about the dream except this image. Couldn't get it out of my mind so I had to paint it. Acrylics on a gessoed junk mail postcard.The original is for sale on Boundless Gallery for just a teensy bit more than a print!

Ah! That's a happy thought. It's interesting what people see in this. I think it's more about the viewer than the painting, so you must be a happy person!

Ok I have been staring at it for five minutes. I love it. To me it reminds me of a latch or a hindge to a door from a barn or a old chest. I don't know but it is intriging.

First I thought a letterbox and then when I saw the whole picture it looks like a surreal flower. As if

That's really neat. There's a form of painting where you just kinda meditate for a while and then you paint. You keep painting until you just feel done, then analyze what you see within the painting. It's supposed to tell you about your soul... maybe that's what this is? Do you see things within the paint itself? Like, the strokes forming images?

Nope, I don't see anything in the strokes. But that's interesting information about the meditative painting. That's how I dip for paper actually. I swish the water until it feels right. I should learn to read tea leaves since I'm going to use them in the paper this weekend.

It represents Fauvism? I read up on that and couldn't really figure out what it was enough to attempt it. I thought I'd wait for the entries to figure it out, but that hasn't really helped me either. I should go read up on it again. It was December when I was so sick that I was reading on it. Thanks for the encouragement!

Wow, dear, that is soooo cool! (Though I tend to dream in fractals! but mostly about Japan and Thailand) I like your brush technique and the vivid colours. I am against the concept that all art has to "be something" or have a name relating to what it "resembles".
The more bizarre name the better! I like people's names - fictious or historical or in honour of someone I know. Place names right off the map of places I've been or would like to go. Then I have in my brain a random name generator! Sometimes it works fast and sometimes slow. You never know. There doesn't have to be any connection to what I seem in the image. And sometimes there does!
The only thing that bothers me is when people name things with all numbers and when people name their work, "I couldn't think of a name for it!
That must have been some wild dream! And the picture, again WOW. I really like those bubbly things coming down like a kite's tail! Hah. In the end it's all about how you and your viewers inkblot the image!

Thanks! Here's a little secret: use the random phrase generators you can find through Google. Sometimes I use them either for inspiration or to name something.
