Description I know I was supposed to upload this last week, but it is what it is.

Another episode where Izzy ends up eliminated is the second Animated Atrocities episode that I completed. Not only did this help start off the season as extremely boring and lackluster (with the first 2 Β episodes not being good openers), but everyone was irritating one way or another, and it was just a boring challenge. There was not a whole lot of interactions, and it just did not stand out from the annoying moments (Izzy, Trent, Gwen, Duncan, etc).

What do you all think of this episode? Spill in the comments.

I am going to do Animated Atrocities and Admirable Animations on movies too, so check that out as well. Expect a TDI Admirable Animations to come out on Friday as well.

Hey Yoshi. It really does say a lot that you did not watch it until 2012. Are you sure that you didn't remember (instead of watch) the episode until 2012? The rushed breakup of Gwen and Trent is really pathetic, and it is sad that they had to derail him to break them up.

No, I really did skip over it the first time I watched TDA when it leaked early in Canada. I never saw it, so I kind of spoiled myself to Izzy, er, E-Scope getting the boot. I was surprised she'd get the boot so early. I never felt like watching it afterward, but forced myself to back in 2012. The breakup of Gwent is still something I hate about TDA. The fact a derailment had to occur just proves that these two should have stayed together,

When did you begin watching Total Drama?

Also, does this mean that you watched World Tour before watching Action?

Way back when "Dodgebrawl" first aired.

I saw the seasons in order; I just missed that one episode by accident.

I began watching the show when Not So Happy Campers - Part 2 first aired, although I was asleep during most of the episode's US premiere and woke up just in time to see Ezekiel get kicked off. I didn't really get into the series until about a month later when Not Quite Famous aired.

Well, you honestly didn't miss much at the time. This is one of the few episodes of the season that I can have as background noise but I do acknowledge that it did foreshadow that things would get worse... Are there any other episodes that you missed by accident?

Wow, you started earlier than I did, that's for sure. And I missed the entire premiere. The first full episode I saw was Dodgebrawl, but I did see the ending of 'The Big Sleep' the week before. I got into the series closer to the merge though. PRior to that, I just casually watched Total Drama.

I really did not though. This episode isn't bad so much as it's boring. Little happens here, and there's nothing you can really take from it other than Izzy getting the boot, which is moot seeing how she comes back three (or four if you include the Aftermath) episodes later.

Admittedly, I was more of a casual viewer as well for awhile after Not Quite Famous in which I would only see the premieres. I didn't really get into it until a few weeks later when I watched several of the ones that hadn't aired in the US yet on YouTube as well as seeing the ones from before again. What was your reaction the first time you saw an uncensored episode of Total Drama as apposed to the censored version?

Justin doesn't even speak in this episode, that pretty much showed how pathetic and useless of a villain he really was.

I was pretty casual throughout all of TDI. I mean, I watched, but I didn't really get into the show until around the time the TDI special aired in America. The first time I saw the uncensored version I was actually really confused. I knew Total Drama wasn't American as Cartoon Network never advertised it as such, but it took me by surprise to see all the things that were in Teletoon's version and not CN's.

I know. I mean, Heather didn't speak in "Phobia Factor", but she also didn't have much of a role in that episode. She at least did something of note there; Justin does nothing of note in this episode.

I remember watching Not Quite Famous on CN for the first time and hearing Bridgette say 'oh crap!' which was one of the few times that word went uncensored that season. It took me by surprise because I'd had previously only heard that word on channels like Adult Swim, FOX, and Comedy Central. And then seeing the uncensored versions of other episodes made me think 'it's like a completely different show!'.

When I saw the premiere of That's Off the Chain! on CN I was very letdown the very first time I saw the poor censoring of Lindsay's epic curse to Heather.

I was surprised when I heard Bridgette say 'oh crap' as it's not really something that's heard ever on Cartoon Network prior to TDI. I mean, it was one of the few times it was used this season as well. And seeing the uncensored versions was so weird at first. I'm used to them now and I prefer them, but at first it was odd.

I missed that part the first time, so I saw the uncensored version first, and hearing CN's version of Lindsay's line was such a massive disappointment that I just can't deal with it.

I saw the uncensored version first as well, and saw the CN premiere to see if they kept it in but... Like you said, disappointment.

I know. IT's such a downplayed version, and seeing how they used beeps in TDA, I kind of wish they'd take the edits away from their version.

And as someone who works in theater, they missed many opportunities for jokes.

This episode is popular? I knew that many did not loathe this episode like they did with some other episodes of this season, but never realized that it was popular. Thank you. This episode literally doesn't accomplish much, a weak episode to start off the teams, and just an overall annoyance.

I really liked Izzy, Lindsay, Heather, Beth, Duncan and Harold in this episode but Izzy's hilarious in every TD episode to me. I kinda agree with you, the episode was kinda boring and really nothing entertaining happened until the last 5 or 6 minutes. 6/10Β

The only TDA episodes that I REALLY hate are: Crouching Courtney Hidden Owen,Β Rock n' Rule,Β 3:10 to Crazytown,Β The Chefshank Redemption andΒ The Princess Pride.

I barely remember them in this episode, but nothing spectacular happened in this el. Most of those episodes you mentioned are worse than this.

I thought that Action began falling apart at the end of the episode before this one but this is at least one of the very few episodes of the season that I can put on as background noise on occasions. For me, the shit really didn't start to hit the fan until the very next episode Beach Blanket Bogus (which I tried to watch a few months ago but turned off after about 5 minutes).

Total drama action as a whole IMO was extremley boring in my eyes. I never even finished that season, that's how bored I was with it. That and although being a show made in Canada, when they first aired the episodes was pretty spotty. agreed. :/

You should watch the entire season, just so you can say you watched it all, and have a first perspective opinion from watching it, instead of reading recaps and what others think of it.

I do agree that nothing came out of this season, and most of it was a boring rehash. They were too lazy to think of new drama and plots, and execute them properly. I was excited for TDA to premiere, and wen I was 12, I thought it was good, but watching it recently did give me a very unsatisfied feeling for the first 3 episodes. One of the most annoying episodes in the series.

World Tour also brought up Geoff's brief stint as a Chris clone and DJ's alliance with Chef. But both of them were essentially throwaway references.

Action was also referenced briefly in Saving Private Leechball, but since it's All-Stars it doesn't count.

Who here hopes along with me that TDAS will be acknowledged even less after what happened to it in future seasons from now on?

TDAS ought not to be referenced again, it is horribly written and offends too many fans with the crap it pulls. And I'm pretty sure the backlash is much stronger than most of what TDA provoked.

Well since it's its own separate deal, it's likely not going to tie too closely into any of that aside from a very small number of TD contestants surfacing there. And I do mean a small number.

It's pretty much guaranteed that the season will likely be brought up less than Action in later seasons.

That is if they don't plan to do a Continuity Reboot that knocks out All-Stars since that sadly appears to be the only way they actually can continue the series past Pahkitew Island (which would have to be wiped out of continuity as well).

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

GundamSamuraiAkira In reply to JohnMarkee1995 [2014-10-09 17:55:52 +0000 UTC]

We'd best hope so, because this is way worse than Action. I can suffer through Action and still find some legit moments. All-Stars is something I never want to have to touch again.

I dunno, Pahkitew Island makes little mention of TDAS at all so it can perhaps be preserved easily. TDAS might as well not be canon.

JohnMarkee1995 In reply to GundamSamuraiAkira [2014-10-09 17:59:42 +0000 UTC]

All-Stars is only mentioned once in the recap for the first episode, but since Fresh considers it Season 5.2 than it seems logical that you need to wipe it out of continuity as well.

I've said before that my ideal Season 6 wipes the past three seasons out of continuity and is a rebooted version of Revenge of the Island with all the 2nd Generation characters plus half of the 3rd Generation characters.

It was brought up at the beginning when Chris said that the challenge was a nod to the war challenge from Full Metal Drama. All-Stars is very likely to suffer the same fate as Action especially with some of the new behind the scenes info that's been popping up lately.

There are some things that I hate about World Tour more than Action such as the love triangle, several of the episodes being even more unwatchable than the worst episodes of Action, and a terrible Final 3 (Cody did nothing to justify his position and Alejandro was the first case of the cast being dumbed down to make the villain look better).

It's OK if you forgot, many of us want to forget that such an abomination exists.

I will admit that he was at least better than both of the villains from Action (heck, he was created to be what they wanted out of Justin but never got) and I hated other characters (like Cody and Duncan) more in that season than him, but he was indeed the definition of Villain Sue. But All-Stars along with very bad experiences with some of his more blind fans really heavily tainted my opinion on him to the point where on a personal level he's one of my least favorite villain (Sugar is worse, but I'd rather shoot myself before calling her a villain).

Justin didn't do anything in this episode, in my eyes he didn't debut as the 'villain' until the next episode. This was also the last episode prior to Food Fright in which a contestant appears but doesn't speak (Justin in this one and Zoey in the latter).
