The Zelda CD-I games are like those 2 dollar knock off animated movies you find in bargain bins. They're funny as hell to watch and just make fun of, but you sometimes have to wonder what the creators were thinking.
Especially seeing as this was Nintendo who made a game for that system. Though a few years after the CD-I's release, they also made the Virtual Boy, so something was clearly in the water at Nintendo for a while.
