Very nice work. Great detail and the render itself is quite lovely.

The team is still @ work preparing for the soon to be released MP Demo!
I'm not sure exactly who did that particular render, but to my understanding - the copyrights for each asset created for the game will still be owned by the individual creators.
Hence the credits for each step of it's preparation, and until notified otherwise - the project is still being developed as a noncommercial entity & Free2Play game along with the UDK Editor!

If your interested in helping, or even learning the UDK - you might DL the Feb2013 version and have a look, providing your gfx card can handle SM3+4 shaders.

Yeah I have thought of doing that. because game engines are faster for animations for me.

I use it for a lot of stuff, and since there's so many online tuts & example content it's relatively easy to do stuff with!

So is UDK better than unity free version?
π: 0 β©: 1
1DeViLiShDuDe In reply to RegusMartin [2013-07-13 03:15:52 +0000 UTC]
I'd have to say I'm a little bias toward UDK since I've already been using previous versions for awhile, but I haven't done a side by side comparison yet - although Unity does handle lesser GFX cards more gracefully, both have many unique features in their favor.
And both also offer new custom features for a license fee, so it would be beneficial to do a comparison - maybe when I have more time!

RegusMartin In reply to 1DeViLiShDuDe [2013-07-13 20:02:34 +0000 UTC]
The fact that unity handles lesser GFX is a big one or me since at the moment I have a terrible computer.
I would love to see a comparison!

1DeViLiShDuDe In reply to RegusMartin [2013-07-14 04:10:44 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, me2 - if you're wanting to try the UDK, you should look for the earlier versions then - if you don't have a SM3 card - I'm currently using the May2010 version that still allows installation with a SM2 card, at least until I can upgrade my system to run the game!

1DeViLiShDuDe In reply to RegusMartin [2013-07-14 18:41:48 +0000 UTC]
Naturally though, the inherent drawback to that is less cool new features than the latest version.
I did notice however, when you run a local server and log into it, different routines are used for compatibility - as I saw almost all textures the way they were supposed to be!
While play InEditor & content preview modes aren't quite so forgiving, and don't always show the content correctly with lesser GFX cards.

RegusMartin In reply to 1DeViLiShDuDe [2013-07-14 20:22:33 +0000 UTC]
Yeah that is true. I will try the latest one to see is my computer can handle it.

Heh! LOL
Well, this is a 'come as you are' not a 'come as I say' sort of project - so if people feel compelled to contribute and have the talent, like myself - I find spare time everywhere!
Enough to spend hours a day trying to increase awareness about the what we're doing, I mean we have a bunch of very talented individuals - all in one place to accomplish a 'top drawer' kind of job.
So, I figure what better way to spend my free time - I mean I was going to port my ut2004 Descent mod to UDK anyway, but this project has a lot more talent than I could ever dream of getting on my own mod team!

Definitely looks like a solid tool platform for mining operations. Probably could be set up with a variety of tools for different tasks, such as drilling, core sampling and maintenance work.
Looks like a unit that could both give and take a decent pounding before needing repairs...
