sorry for spoilers if you havent read Civil War, but later, Winter Soldier/Bucky takes his place and becomes the new Cap, shiny new costume and carries a handgun and shield.

Whatever happened to that What If? storyline, it was awesome back in the 80's. Especially the one about The Punisher
